UFC 183 is this weekend, and of course it’s not without its controversy. Nick Diaz is being Nick Diaz – he missed the open workout, and his bags arrived in Vegas but not him. Apparently he just disappeared and didn’t get on his flight.

Honestly it’s probably just marketing and PR by UFC. In the week leading up to the Superbowl they’re already not getting top billing obviously due to the Superbowl – but now all the controversy over Marshawn Lynch as well as DEFLATEGATE has really had ESPN etc ignoring UFC like crazy.

But what happens this week? Nick Diaz doesn’t show up and suddenly UFC are in the mainstream sports media again.

Anyway – prior to the weigh in’s lets see if there is anything worth betting on UFC:

UFC 183 Betting Tips:

Honestly, we wouldn’t hate you if you placed a small bet on Nick Diaz. We don’t think he’ll win – but Anderson Silva is coming back from that gruesome leg injury. He also showed he is not invincible prior that – Weidman dominated him in both the fights that they had. This IS a winnable fight for Nick Diaz and you can currently get +400 odds on it at https://www.Bovada.lv. That’s the best odds around and it’s worth a small punt we believe.

We also like Tyron Woodley to beat Kelvin Gastelum. Gastelum will control the fight, but Woodley is a very smart fighter which is not the type of fighter Gastelum shines against. Woodley is excellent at countering, and really this is a perfect fight for him in that regard. Woodley is +105 at the moment which is a good price.

We also like the underdog pick of Joe Lauzon. We’ve enjoyed watching him lately – he’s declining physically for sure, but he is really adding to his skillset. Most fighters as they decline they are just like “okay I’m done” but Lauzon is really extending his game and his knowledge of mixed martial arts. We think we shall see an excellent display by Lauzon at UFC 183, and he will pick up the victory. +180 odds at https://www.Bovada.lv make it even more worth it.

Finally, we also like Miesha Tate to beat Sara McMann. She is trading at around +175 right now. Tate is coming off two big wins in Rin Nakani and Liz Carmouche, and she went all 3 rounds and showed she has what it takes. She also of course went 3 rounds with Ronda. Tate is tough. McMann is an excellent wrestler but she barely beat Lauren Murphy. That was a tight split decision. She will also be a bit rusty since having not fought since August, and we think at those odds Tate is worth the bet.
