A winning start to the service, so hopefully yo’ve been able to treat yourself to something nice off the back of our tips, if not, get stuck into these three and we’ll make a bit of money to enjoy over the weekend.
Michael Van Gerwen to beat Andy Hamilton – 6/5 @ Blue Square.
We’ve been looking to take Hamilton on and the draw hasn’t been kind to him. Hamilton has been in very inindifferent form, while MVG has been in better form in ’09, picking up his first floor title in the process. It might finally be a breakthrough year for MVG and his style can benefit him here, as if he gets into a rhythm, it might be over before it gets a chance to really get started.
Recomendation – 1 unit
Louis Blundell to beat Andy Roberts – 11/10 @ Blue Square.
I think it’s priced up wrong. Other firms have both players odds-on, so 11/10 seems a bit out of line. I’d have Blundell favourite, simply because of his record on the floor this year. Roberts is a pub qualifier and a bit of an unknown entity, beating Anastasia Dobromyslova and Steve Beaton to get into the third round. Blundell has the experience, getting to a semi-final earlier in the year, narrowly losing to Colin Lloyd. While the game could end up being tight, I believe 11/10 is far too generous.
Recommendation – 1 unit.
Peter Wright to beat Mark Webster – 9/4 @ Blue Square.
Webster, although a former World Champion, has been struggling to find consistency over the past 12-18 months. Moving to the PDC, he’s looking to change that, but didn’t look too comfortable on stage at the Premier League, in his first televised PDC match. We’ve also been hearing word there’s a chance Webster might be carrying an injury. While it’s purely speculation at this moment, it could make the 9/4 look far too big at the off, as we know how bad a player can be carrying an injury like that, looking at players like Mason and Scholten in the past. It screams value, so it would be silly not to have Wright on our side.
Recommendation – .5 of a unit.
As listed above – the best odds for all of these are at Blue Square.
