Another very good week for Darts Betting Tips. 3-1 again, with almost 5 units profit made. Lovely-jubbly! So, 6-2 in the last two weeks and it’s definitely paid for my summer holiday. Now, if Ronnie Baxter had obliged last week and Mervyn King the week before, it would have been Mauritius, but never mind. We’re having a good run, so we need to make the most of it.
We’re into Aberdeen this week, so we should expect a bit of hostility for Messers Taylor, Wade and Lewis and a hell of a lot of support for Barney and Whitlock. The Scottish crowds are always great and it feels very special when the Premier League rolls into town. So, let’s make sure the great darts is made even better by some winning bets and lets see if we can get our beer money for our holidays!

James Wade vs Ronnie Baxter
Right, Baxter is dead in my eyes after last week! Well, not really, but I think the Baxter ship has sailed. He’s up against the form player in the league, James Wade. Wade has a very, very slow start in defending his title, but he is back to some kind of form, which should see him through. He’s scoring well, being a bit more consistent and should have enough in his locker to take care of Baxter, who, while playing well, has been fortunate to come up against some players in some pretty poor form.
What can we expect from this match? High scores and high checkouts will be the order of the day. Baxter will need some high finishes to keep in the match and Wade might just find one or two to stop the crowd baying for his blood. The prices in the outright markets aren’t appealing. Wade is around 4/9 and it’s just not great for this format when the player has been struggling with his finishing. So, because Baxter will need the big out shots and he is more than capable of them, the prices for highest checkout are in our favour here.

Mervyn King vs Phil Taylor
Taylor versus King in Aberdeen. It should be electric and there will be some fireworks, for sure, even if it’s just from the crowd. Hopefully King will get a better reception in Scotland that he has been in England recently. If not, there could be a riot! Taylor has been bang in form, but as I say every week, he’s a slow starter. King has been plodding along, picking up the wins we’ve been expecting him to, dropping a couple of points here and there when we’re not expecting it.
King will need his A-game against Taylor and I don’t think he’ll bring it. His 93.71 against Adrian Lewis wasn’t setting the world alight and the 8-3 scoreline is a bit of a misnomer. Lewis was shocking and King was just slightly better. However, Taylor was pushed quite a bit by Whitlock and it wasn’t until he pulled out some amazing finishing that he was able to pull away. A 125 checkout was phenomenal, going bull-25-bull and he might need to do that again to get himself in full flow.
So, Taylor should win this, but maybe not at a canter. King will know he needs to score heavily and he is capable of knocking in the maximums. His 4 over 11 legs was matched by Taylor, albeit over 13 legs, so King might just have a 180 or two in him ahead of The Power.

Raymond van Barneveld vs Terry Jenkins:
Battle of the basement with Terry Jenkins versus Raymond van Barneveld. Who would have thought Barney would be sitting bottom of the league? Not me, that’s for sure. However, most of his performances have merited it. However, he has been scoring reasonably well, just let down by his finishing. He’s meeting a resurgent Terry Jenkins, who still harbours an outside chance of getting to the Premier League semi-finals.
However, he’s doing my head in with his inconsistency and at least you know, more or less what you’re going to get with Barney now. Barney started off well enough against James Wade, then lost his head and that was that. However, he’s got the game to trouble someone like Jenkins and the bookies have priced them about even, which is interesting. I’m going to sugest Barney is the play here, simply because on form, he’s got far, far too much for Jenkins and if both play as poorly as they have done in the Premier League, it might come down to experience, which Barney just edges.
Raymond van Barneveld to beat Terry Jenkins: 6/5 @
Recommend: 2 units @ 6/5.
Simon Whitlock vs Adrian Lewis:
Battle of the Premier League wildcards! Simply put, Whitlock has been impressive when he’s won and shocking when he’s lost. No middle ground, really. Well, against Phil Taylor, but that’s to be expected. Lewis is in the doldrums right now and he didn’t want to come up against Simon Whitlock, who can really punish him for missing doubles. Lewis has been missing doubles by the boat-load and I can’t see that changing in the space of a week. Whitlock has been on fire with his doubling for the majority of the tournament and that’s not going to stop.
We’ll see more heavy scoring and some great finishing, but I think we won’t see too many legs and Whitlock will end up mauling him.
