Well, this is it for Premier League Darts 2011. We’re in London for the last few matches of the tournament and it’s down to Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis fighting it out for the title.
A frustrating night from Newcastle last week. But we did go 2-1.
That takes us to 23-26 and -18.17. A very strong 7.5 unit profit last week and if it wasn’t for Adrian Lewis bottling it against Gary Anderson, it would have a glorious way to end the league stages of the Premier League Darts season.
888.com are turning their attention to darts and they’re now offering a free £20 bet to new accounts, which is one of the best offers out there. They’re new to sponsoring the PDC action and their sponsorship of the Premier League Darts is a great coup not just for them, but for the PDC. 888.com are a great bookie and I would urge you to head on over there and take advantage of their great promotions.

Let’s get right down to the action for the final night of Premier League Darts action.
Phil Taylor versus Adrian Lewis.
Adrian Lewis:
League Average: 95.62
180s: 40
Legs Played: 163
Legs Won: 85
100+ Finishes: 14
Phil Taylor:
League Average: 102.67
180s: 55
Legs Played: 155
Legs Won: 106
100+ Finishes: 10
Adrian Lewis is the only man to beat Phil Taylor in the Premier League this season. But that was the first week and Taylor really was shocking. But The Power has put that behind him to go 13 weeks undefeated and cemeent his place at the top of the darts ladder.
Adrian Lewis, on the other hand, has been blowing hot and cold and was a bit lucky to salvage a point against Gary Anderson last week. But there are no draws this week, as they’re not playing best of 15 as opposed to best of 14.
Taylor is 1/7 to win this match, which is understandable, as he’s been peerless over the last 13 weeks, coming close to defeat only a couple of times. I can’t see past a Taylor win here, but the 1/7 doesn’t scream any sort of value. Their last match was 8-3 in favour of Lewis and something similar might just happen again.
The 180 line at around 7.5 is spot on and the handicap being -3.5 is again what I would have suggested if I was setting the line. However, Taylor to score more 180s than Lweis is a great bet when you look at the stats. Taylor looks like putting in 4 or 5 maximums, while Lewis has been struggling with the maximums as of late and the stats suggest only around 3. The price looks good and it’s a good way to get our night off with a bang.

Raymond van Barneveld versus Gary Anderson.
Raymond van Barneveld:
League Average: 95.41
180s: 33
Legs Played: 172
Legs Won: 95
100+ Finishes: 15
Gary Anderson:
League Average: 97.40
180s: 68
Legs Played: 168
Legs Won: 92
100+ Finishes: 6
A though encounter for both Raymond van Barneveld and Gary Anderson. Anderson has the edge on the averages, but Barney has the edge on the head-to-head; van Barneveld has won both Premier League matches this season (8-5, then 8-4).
Anderson’s form seems to have dipped lately, while Barney might not be hitting the peaks of years gone by, but he’s been solid enough. However, it’s tough to call and the way to approach this game is by looking at the alternative markets to the win market.
First, the total 180s in the game, the lnie is set at 7.5 and I think there’s a couple more in this game, as it has the potential to go all the way. There could be at least 9 here and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was double figures.

We then have to look at the player to score the highest checkout and this is where Raymond van Barneveld comes into the picture. He’s scored more checkouts over 100 than Anderson, while Anderson’s doubling has been notoriusly patchy recently. Barney will need to put in the high checkouts to win this and he’ll no doubt know this.
