John Henderson versus Brendan Dolan.
There might be some thinking that this should have been Wes Newton versus John Part, and while the rankings agree with you, the way both men have played in their first two matches, it’s not too much of a surprise to see John Henderson and Brendan Dolan here.
While Henderson took the scalp of the in-form Wes Newton, his scoring wasn’t that great and his doubling wasn’t the best. Compare that to Brendan Dolan and the Northern Irishman has ten points on him, as well as a much better finishing percentage.
Dolan’s backing from the crowd might just see him through here, and it’s a shock to see him at such a tasty price.

Andy Smith versus James Wade.
Andy Smith is flourishing in Dublin yet again, but he’s got a mammoth task taking on James Wade. The Pieman upset Raymond van Barneveld in the second round, while James Wade escaped from Vincent van der Voort’s clutches, with some solid scoring and doubling.
This could be closer than the bookies have, with Wade just edging it. The 1/4 is a terrible price for Wade and with Smith’s love for this stage, Smith on the handicap is where we should be going.

Phil Taylor versus Mark Webster.
I’m going to be honest, I can’t find an angle for this one. Taylor has looked in great form and the stats tell their own story. While Webster has been playing well, I don’t think he’s got anywhere near enough to trouble The Power, who will easily average into the high 90s.
Recommend: No bet.
Mark Hylton versus Richie Burnett.
Now, come on, who had this in their predicted bracket? Kudos to you if you did. I had it pegged as Gary Anderson taking on Hylton, which I’m sure a few of you had. Still, both men deserve to be here with the way they’re playing and the bookies can’t split them, which is understandable.
Still, Hylton looked nervy at times when trying to close the game out, while Burnett looked comfortable in taking out Denis Ovens. Add to that Burnett’s slightly better averge and superior doubling, the Welshman is the play here, especially as he’s been in big pressure games before. He’s won a world title, so a World Grand Prix quarter-final won’t hold any fears for him.
