First night of the Premier League Darts season last week, and there was one result everyone was talking about – Michael van Gerwen’s 7-0 victory over Phil Taylor, with the Dutchman averaging 109.59 and giving Taylor only 4 darts at a double in the entire match. Adrian Lewis also set out his stall for a big season, while there were wins on debut for Peter Wright and Dave Chisnall. Raymond van Barneveld was the night’s other winner, convincingly beating Gary Anderson 7-2, averaging 108.52 and hitting 6 maximums over those 9 legs.
