This week in the golf we have an absolutely freaking stacked Genesis Open with most of the top players in the world playing.
From a viewing perspective it should be amazing but from a betting perspective? Ugh.
I have two relatively safe picks then 4 really speculative picks that I don’t even know if it’s worth betting ha.
This should be a hell of a tournament regardless and I am really looking forward to it. Going to be interesting seeing who is at the top.
Last week we had 3 cashes which put us close to break even for the week alas that dumb Phil Mickelson bet I made meant it was overall a slightly losing week.
We came insanely close to it being a massive week with so many great potential winners going into Sunday. Was crushing none of them were able to win.
Here are the betting slips:
In other news, over at my golf tips site I finally sat down and chronicled all my bets made over the years in a table and charted everything. My most common bet is $125, so if you go with that as 1u, then I have profited 667.93 units from 2014-2020. Funnily enough my record is 191-1211 and that is NOT a mistake. It just highlights the variance of golf.
Here is a chart showing the units over the years:
Let’s get on with the tips:
My two main bets are 1u on DJ Top 5 and 2u on Patrick Cantlay Top 10.
I just can’t bet on DJ to win this tournament at the price but I really do feel it is his tournament to lose. Everything looks good for him here.
I also think Cantlay will be there or thereabouts. I mean Cantlay is the type of guy that can win a tournament just because he wants to it seems. He’s looking good and on the verge of a big win any day now it seems.
The rest of my bets I’d say bet 1/2u on them. They are Kevin Na, Russell Henley, Carlos Ortiz and Max Homa.
All of them are to win/top 5 so put 1/4u on to win, the other 1/4u on top 5.
You may even want to back them Top 10 or Top 20 if you’d rather.
