This weekend in UFC action, we have UFC on ESPN 28: Hall vs Strickland.
It features Sean Strickland as a decent favourite against Uriah Hall. This was initially scheduled for UFC 265 however has been moved forward and is now the headliner for this event.
Not the greatest card in terms of star power but that’s okay – should still be a fun card. Even better of course when we bet on it.
Last time I posted UFC 264 tips, it was a nice 2-1 winning day. Our only loss was a +600 underdog, and we had two 2u wins with Poirier and Du Plessis. Nice easy money.
Here’s what I got:
UFC on ESPN: Hall vs Strickland Betting Tips:
1u on Trevin Jones To Win: +130 Odds
I personally locked that one on the weekend at +170 odds for 2u. Not loving +130 as much, but still worth a small play.
Lawrence comes in on a 4 fight win streak. UFC wise, he has two with a decision win over Jose Johnson on the Contender series, and a TKO of Vince Cachero. He has a 7-1 record. “5 Star” Trevin Jones we lat saw in March when he knocked out Mario Bautista.
I’ve been really impressed with Jones. Despite the overturn, I loved his performance against Valiev. Lawrence has the gas tank and some great kicks to him but for me Jones is just a very solid fighter. Has a solid base, and I think Lawrence will focus more on strikes which could cause an issue for him.
I will say I am not as big a fan of this one at those odds. Anything above +150 was great value – this not so much.
1u on Orion Coscoe To Win: -145 Odds
He keeps drifting as money is coming in on Rowe. He was -200 at one point. Surprises me. Rowe just can’t handle pressure well, which will be to the benefit of Coscoe.
Coscoe is also a good wrestler and that spells trouble for Rowe. Coscoe is 7-0 and is a solid finisher as well. Actually all of his fights have been finishes, and he’s went into the third round three times no problems. Rowe is coming in off that tough loss against Gabriel Green at UFC 258.
Unfortunately – that is all I have got. Looking at all the other fights I just find too much to conflict. I am tempted by Rani Yahya as an underdog but this one does feel set up for Kang to get back going again.
