This week on the European Tour, it’s the BMW PGA Championship.
This event takes place in Surrey, England at the Wentworth Club Golf Course. It was first established in 1955 and has had various names over the years.
Rory McIlroy won last year by 1 stroke, defeating Shane Lowry. That was the first time Rory had won the event. He has played it a total of 7 times and his best finish previously was 5th. He’s actually missed the cut 3 times – and the odds of 11/4 on Rory to win are well – surprising to say the least.
One good thing about this field is that at most books – in particular – they pay the Top 6 for E/W.

BMW PGA Championship 2015 Betting Tip #1: David Howell
Howell is coming into this on some fantastic form. In his last 3 tournaments he has had 3 Top 5 places, with a 4th, 2nd and 2nd.
Unfortunately, his history on this course is rather spotty. A decade ago he actually won it, following up from a 4th the year before. However since then he has had a torrid, torrid time. He’s had 3 missed cuts in a row, as well as places in the high 60s.
Howell is still in tremendous form however and he’s topped this course once before. We think it is worth a half unit bet on Howell.
BMW PGA Championshiop 2015 Betting Tip #2: Luke Donald
We’re now going to go the opposite way; an off-form golfer who has had a great time at this course.
Luke Donald has just dominated this course. Since 2010, he has had a 2nd place, a 3rd place and two wins. Just some absolutely tremendous form. However he is of course off form big time in the tournaments he has played in. Don’t worry about that. He has came into this tournament in poor form before, and yet did the business.
With his history here, Donald is an easy bet.
