Well that was quite the PGA Championship. It was a very thrilling round 4 in the way that golf can be – even though there was a clear leader throughout the day in Jason Day, he had multiple golfers clipping at his heels. He managed to prevail however, and get the win.
It was a beautiful win for Day who teared up on the 18th and that was a really cool sight to see – nice to see how much it meant to him.
We thankfully didn’t go home empty handed. Justin Rose couldn’t really get going on the final day, but he still got this cash for us:
And how exciting was Round 3 with our betting tip of David Lingmerth? The 100/1 candidate came very very close to a Top 6 finish but unfortunately dropped down.
Speaking of – we are going to be changing something here while I test things out. Usually, I suggest betting to win & e/w on the high odds players. However with the sportsbooks allowing us to cash out our bets – I’m going to be suggesting two separate bets – one to win, one top 5. We get slightly worse odds it looks like if Top 5 – for example 7/1 compared to 8/1 – but it may work out better in the future assuming we can cash out.
Alright so this week is the Wyndham Championship, and the big news is Tiger Woods is participating. Tiger is hoping to make the PGA post-season and to do that he’s pretty much gonna have to win here.
Let’s check out the odds:
Wyndham Championship 2015 Betting Odds:
- Brooks Koepka: 14/1
- Brandt Snedeker: 16/1
- Hideki Matsuyama: 20/1
- Adam Scott: 22/1
- Branden Grace: 22/1
- Billy Horschel: 25/1
- Justin Thomas: 25/1
- Webb Simpson: 25/1
- Martin Kaymer: 28/1
- Bill Haas: 28/1
Wyndham Championship Betting Tip #1: Brookes Koepka
We shall be taking the favourite, Brooks Koepka, to win and also a Top 5 Finish.
Koepka came out of the PGA Championship looking hot. Damn hot. We think momentum will be on his side here. He’s came in the top 20 the last 6 tournaments he has played in, and while his history here was only a 38th placed finish we’re going to bank the momentum.
Speaking of momentum – Koepka is 14/1 but is also 25/1 to be the first round leader. As we’re backing momentum we’ll be doing a half unit bet on Koepka to win, half unit bet on Top 5, and a quarter unit bet on Koepka to be the first round leader.
Wyndham Championship Betting Tip #2: Webb Simpson
We’ll be throwing half a unit on Webb Simpson – a quarter on him to win, another quarter on him to finish in the top 5.
Simpson has an excellent history at this course with 3 top 5 finishes and 5 top 20 finishes in the last 5 years. He’s not playing too well at the moment and it’s been awhile since he broke the top 20 – but with a course like this we like him to start slowly but warm to it and as long as he gets a solid day 1 – to get better and better as the tournament goes on.
Wyndham Championship Betting Tip #3: Carl Petterson
We’ll be making our 3rd and final bet on Carl Petterson. he’s got great course form, and his current form isn’t too shabby either. He’s been up and down but with two top 5 finishes, we’ll take him to win and place.
Wyndham Championship Fantasy Golf:
We’re going to start doing fantasy golf again. We’ve been so busy with tips we haven’t focused on that but hoping to change it. We won’t do separate articles at this time but maybe in the future.
This time around we’re going with:
- Carl Pettersson
- Will Wilcox
- Brooks Koepka
- Brandt Snedeker
- Jhonattan Vegas
- Troy Kelly
Based it mainly on course form. Never played fantasy golf? Try it for free at .
