Well what a pile of crap the LPGA was last week.
I mean don’t get me wrong we at least run money – but the 20/1 Lexi Thompson got absolutely SCREWED, and as we had a bet on her we also got screwed.
Thompson was on the road to an easy victory on the last day, when she was given an absolute bullshit penalty.
If you haven’t been following it – it was absolutely bloody absurd. Thompson was in the middle of playing in the final round. She was 3 clear at the 12th hole. All looked good. Then an official came over to tell her she was being given a 4 strike penalty.
The reason? A TV viewer had noticed that the day before she had incorrectly replaced her ball by about a quarter of an inch.
Absolutely absurd. Thompson forced a playoff but still lost unfortunately.
Very frustrating. Here’s the betting slip:
We’ll turn our focus onto the Masters now. The US Masters takes place this week. It’s always a good one and there are 8 places each way for betting which is nice at the below sportsbooks:
If you’re looking to bet the Masters, any of them is your best bet.
Last year we had an interesting Masters. I correctly tipped Dustin Johnson as an E/W bet and I also had Lee Westwood to finish both in the Top 20 and Top 10. That one won as Westwood came 2nd! I remember that one as I was so happy that he was doing well – but also praying he wouldn’t actualy win because I hadn’t bet that one at a ridiculous price of 125/1 I believe. So glad he didn’t actually win!
I’m not a big fan of him this year at the shorter odds for those wondering.
This year here’s what I’ve got:
Masters 2017 Betting Tips:
Daniel Berger: I am betting a half unit on Daniel Berger to win and E/W at 66/1. Berger played his first Masters just last year and got an impressive 10th place finish. He stayed consistent throughout with 73-71-74-71. That’s impressive and he’s coming into the Masters on form, after a terrific performance at the Shell Houston open. He played well at the WGC in Mexico as well as the Phoenix Open back in February. He’s well worth a play here.
Jason Day: the one thing Day doesn’t have going for him is current form and that concerns me. However you can’t argue with either his Masters history or his Major Championship history. I’ve been debating this one all day but I feel the price is just right for a quarter unit bet on Day to win & E/W.
Jordan Spieth: It’s one of the toughest courses in golf, and Jordan Spieth in his 3 appearances there is 2nd, 1st and 2nd. It feels wrong not to have money on Spieth here until he has a bad tournament. Especially considering his price. I’m going to go with Jordan Spieth Top 5 Finish for a full unit.
Tyrrell Hatton: Hatton is coming into this one on some fine form. Probably not enough to win the bloody thing but to be a contender. His lat two majors have seen him come 5th and 10th which is a very good sign – shows he can handle the pressure of them now. I was looking at the top debutant market for him at 5/1 – I think he has what it takes to beat Rahmbo. However I’m going to go with Hatton to win & E/W instead – 50/1, for a quarter unit.
Bill Haas: Haas has never missed a cut in 7 appearances here. Best performance was 12th. Coming in on the back of some fine form. I’m going to bet a Top 20 Finish for Bill Haas for a unit, and then a cheeky bet on him to win and E/W for a quarter unit.
Justin Rose: Past performance and the form he has been in lately is enough for me to put a quarter unit bet on Rose to win and E/W. Odds are just nice enough.

Jordan Spieth: 1 unit for a Top 5 Finish
Tyrrell Hatton: 1/4 unit to win and E/W

Justin Rose: 1/4 unit to win and E/W
