Starting to understand that “Always the bridesmaid, never the bride” sentiment.
Last week we had Cristie Kerr in the LPGA and Kerr made it to a playoff at the end. After an ungodly amount of tied rounds Kerr finally lost in the playoff.
Just a couple of weeks ago we saw the same thing occur with both Justin Rose and Lexi Thompson. That’s now 3 playoffs in a row where we’ve been so damn close to a huge payout and it’s just not worked out.
So frustrating.
Here’s the betting slip for the Kerr win anyway:
Oh well – to be honest I’m always happy just to be in contention on that final day. And it made for a profitable week so I can’t really complain.
Wells Fargo Championship 2017 Betting Tips:
Quick note that they’re playing at a new course so unfortunately course history isn’t really a factor here. I’d think that people who have shorter drives will do better here and be in contention more.
However with no course form to go on and only theories that always puts me off any big bets. So it’s all quarter unit bets this week to win and E/W.
Cameron Smith: Coming in on form after great performances at the Zurich Classic and Valero Texas Open. I also liked his performance at the RBC Heritage. I feel he can be a bit inconsistent though but this one might suit him and I’m happy to back him at the odds.
Update: Cameron Smith has withdrawn from the Wells Fargo.
Brian Gay: Similar to Smith – two good performances coming in here at the RBC Heritage and Valero Texas Open. My concern is he was playing heavy for his PGA Tour card and just got exempt status. He obviously upped his game those last few tournaments. I’m hoping he bounces off that with a good performance here though.
Kevin Tway: A solid performance at the Texas Open and the Zurich – that 37 foot birdie putt was beautiful. He’s in form and I’m happy with a small bet on him at the odds.
That’s it for me for that tournament. Just three long shot bets as no-one is really sticking out to me.
Insperity Invitational 2017 Betting Tips:
I’m betting a half unit on Jeff Maggert to win and E/W. I’ve been impressed with his performances here in the past at what is a tricky course. he was tied for 2nd here last year and has been solid this season.
Web.com Betting Tips:
I’m going to give it a go again at expanding into the Web.com tour. This weeks is the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship.
With zero public betting history on this I’ll be betting 1/8 of a unit on it for my public tracking. All to win and E/W.
I’m betting Austin Cook who is coming in on fire with a 3rd place at the El Bosque Mexico Championship.
I’m also betting Roberto Diaz who has been incredibly inconsistent this year but has two Top 3 finishes.
