Group F in the World Cup features Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea.
Germany and Mexico will have kicked off one day prior to this as they play on Sunday, June 17th. Sweden vs South Korea will take place on Monday, June 18th and will start the day.
It’s a big one for Sweden as South Korea are the whipping boys of the group, and they’ll be battling with Mexico for 2nd place. So anything other than a victory here will be a complete disaster for the Swedes.
Sweden required the UEFA Second Round to qualify however they managed to do it by defeating the Italians. They beta Italy 1-0 in Sweden and held them to a 0-0 draw in Italy at the San Siro. An incredible achievement from the team who had also ousted the Netherlands on goal difference. They played excellent in the group stages with 26 goals scored in 10 games. Although big wins over Luxembourg and Belarus taint that a bit.
South Korea struggled to qualify. They made it through via the AFC Third Round by coming 2nd with a 4-3-3 record. Iran topped the group. There was not one game in which they were really dominant and even lost to Qatar.
To put it quite simply it’d be an embarassment if Sweden lost.

Sweden Analysis:
I’m not sure why Sweden are so underrated. Maybe because they’re without Zlatan? But look at how good they were when they qualified. They had a brutally tough group and deserve a lot of credit.
Emil Forsberg is a very creative player and I think life after Zlatan is nice – we’re seeing more of a team performance. Janne Andersson utilizies a basic 4-4-2 and that is always good to see in international football – nothing too tricky.
Of course their main weakness is up front. I’d think we’d see a strikeforce of Berg and Toivonen and while it’s not exactly Shearer and Sutton, with the creativity in midfield they should be okay.
South Korea Analysis:
Obviously they weren’t too impressive in qualification and one thing I’ve learned from watching that and the friendlies they’ve played is tactically they are not prepared going into the World Cup.
They used a 4-2-3-1 for the most part however have been trying out three in the back since then and you can see they’re really unsure what to do.
They do have dangers in their team. Their strike force in particular is fast and we could see them utilize a counter attack well. Honestly it’s the type of set up that might just shock Sweden and I can see why the sportsbooks have the odds as they are.
They’re missing Lee Keun-ho and Kwon Chang-hoon which are two big losses.
Sweden vs South Korea Betting Tips:
Honestly when I first saw the odds, I was very surprised and was ready to place 5 units on Sweden. However the more I look at it, I can see the counter attack causing issues. I still like Sweden a lot though and think they’ll be aware of that. I’ll reel myself in with 3 units on Sweden to win. Bet this at https://www.Bovada.lv.
