July 1st will see Denmark take on Croatia in the knockout stages of the World Cup. The winner of the match will face off against the winner of Spain vs Russia in the quarter finals of the World Cup.
Denmark were expected to finish 2nd in Group C behind France and that is exactly what happened. It was quite interesting watching them and how they performed. Denmark did an excellent job holding off a motivated and pumped Peru team to win 1-0 in the first game. They came out strong against Australia in the second game before a VAR/Penalty seemed to take the wind out of their sails. And they created a cure for insomnia in their game with France as they drew 0-0.
Croatia have been refreshing. A solid 2-0 win over NIgeria was followed up by a big win over Argentina 3-0 to qualify for the knockout stage. What was also impressive for me was their game against Iceland. Already qualified they still went out there very hungry, looking for the win and got a big 2-1 win.

Croatia Analysis:
Croatia have been quite excellent so far. The victory over Iceland was a big one as they changed the squad around a bit and still performed well and looked tactically solid.
They knew what they had to do in that one – let Iceland with a weak offense attack and be patient and then pounce like a raptor and it worked quite well.
Croatia are deserved favourites for this one.
Denmark Analysis:
I think the jury is still out on Denmark. People will talk about how they were uninspired or undeserving of the victory overy Peru however Peru were up for that game like no other. Then against Australia they started strong and the VAR Penalty just messed them up mentally and they couldn’t bring themselves back into the game.
I do think they have a very uninspiring offense however they do have a special player in Christian Eriksen and you have to remember it has been awhile since Denmark last lost a game.
Croatia vs Denmark Betting Tips:
Anytime I have a betting option of X or Draw and it is 1.70 odds or above at this stage I am going to look into it for sure. In this one particularly I think Denmark will be hard to break down. Without a team being desperate against them I am not sure if the Croats can take it in 90 minutes. I’d back the draw but I feel Denmark or Draw is a safer bet as it takes just one magic moment from Eriksen to turn this game on its head. I’m backing that for 3 units.
