It’s Wednesday, and it’s a big day with the NHL Playoffs starting today.
Also wow – the Miami Heat are now eliminated from playoff contention in the NBA. Full props to them though – they seriously recovered well this season after what most people thought and full props to them for battling for the playoffs.
Going to be interesting to see what happens to that franchise during the off-season, and what changes they may ring in.
In case you missed it – yesterday we posted our Western Conference Betting Tips for the NHL. Today, we will be analyzing each series in the East, as well as providing your weekly golf betting tips. We also posted LPGA Betting Tips as well yesterday.
NHL Eastern Conference Playoff Predictions:
Ottawa Senators vs Montreal Canadiens: We just find it really, really hard to bet against the Senators. They performed very, very well against the Montreal Canadiens this season. On top of that, they are going into the playoffs on the back of some of the most immense goaltending we’ve ever seen. As if that wasn’t enough – they’re freaking underdogs. It’s pretty simple here: Ottawa Senators to win the series. 2.30 odds is huge.
New York Islanders vs Washington Capitals: You’ll have to do a bit of line shopping on this one but it’s worth it for the Capitals as you can get them as high as 1.79 odds which is a fantastic price. Islanders stumbled their way into the playoffs at the end, and this is one that the Capitals should take down with relative ease. They’re coming into this with Ovechkin on fire. Take the Capitals to win the series.
Pittsburgh Penguins vs New York Rangers: This is where value is fun, and betting is fun. Rangers should win this series, but you can get 3.00 on the Penguins to win the series which is a huge price, and one you have to take. When you have the likes of Crosby & Malkin in – you just HAVE to bet them at that price. Never discount the Penguins. Value bet on the Penguins even though we expect the Rangers to win.
Detroit Red Wings vs Tampa Bay Lightning: We were all conflicted on this one. And when it’s a situation like that, we feel the best thing to do is take the underdog. Lightning are awesome – that’s for darn sure – but the Wings have had an epic season, and played some great hockey. They’re a huge 2.83 odds to win when we think 2.50 would be even a good bet. Take the value bet on the Red Wings.
PGA Betting Tips:
It’s the RBC Heritage 2015 tournament this week, and we’ve got two betting tips.
First up is Luke Donald. 28/1 E/W and he’s dominated this tournament. He’s had 5 finishes 3rd or 2nd in the last 6 years. The only issue is he is coming into this on poor form. But hey that happens. Donalds history can’t be ignored.
Finally we’re going with Charley Hoffman. We like his recent form, and he’s did well here before. 33/1 E/W.
