Man – I can’t wait for the Champions League and UEFA Cup to kick off again. Midweek games can be so dull without European football.
It was a disapointing outing in the English Championship on Saturday but a winning day on Sunday with Real Madrid.
We took them to beat Real Betis and it was a very tight game but Dani Ceballos scored in the 88th minute to give Real Madrid a very necessary win. Their possession stats for that game were absolutely brutal and they really need to sort that out.
With not much going on for Tuesday, January 15th we’ll look at some mainly stats based picks.
Let’s see what we got:
Angers vs Bordeaux Betting Tips:
Call me crazy but I smell an upset victory here.
Bordeaux are the worst away team in the league yet I have a sneaky suspicion they can steal this one. They had a nice little run of form going before the 1-0 loss to Nice. Amiens have 4 draws in their last 4 games.
It makes the draw seem the most likely result however I think Bordeaux can pull something out of this game. I’m not sure why that is and I could be completely off base. However it’s just a feeling I have looking at this game.
It’s a risky one so we’ll go small. Like I said stats wise the draw seems more likely and Angers are draw specialists. However I always feel that when the draw seems super obvious, it never happens.

Le Havre vs Valenciennes Betting Tips:
This one is in Ligue 2 of France. Le Havre are currently on 28 points, which is 8 points above Valenciennes.
Valenciennes are an absolutely brutal team on the road with just 4 points out of 8 games. Le Havre aren’t the worst favourites at 1.57 – might not be the worst price – however defensively they are struggling at home recently and keep conceding.
They’re still racking up the wins but a lot of teams are able to score against them like Sochaux and Chateauroux. Despite their poor record on the road, Valenciennes are still able to score an average of 1 goal per game.
Le Havre also concede more at home than on the road.
I think this game is ripe for both teams scoring. Over 2.5 goals is 1.95 odds which is also tempting but I think we see a fairly competitive game and it could be tight. Valenciennes will want to string together two wins in a row after beating Sochaux.
