The 2019 Copa America kicks off this Friday with the hosts Brazil going up against Bolivia.
Both teams are in Group A along with Venezuela and Peru.
Like all major national tournaments I’ll be analyzing every game, and hopefully tipping every game. Although that’s not always the case as sometimes there are games that are unfortunately unbettable.
The 2019 Copa America goes from now until the final on Friday, July 7th.
I’ve posted the schedules in the major Canadian time zones.
Here are the links to those:
- Copa America 2019 (EST)
- Copa America 2019 (PST)
- Copa America 2019 (CST)
- Copa America 2019 (MST)
I’ll also be pulling double duty covering both the Copa America AND Women’s World Cup. They’ll be in separate posts. Here’s the Women’s World Cup Tips for June 14th, 2019.
With that let’s look at the first game, Brazil vs Bolivia.
Brazil vs Bolivia Betting Tips:
Brazil are hosting the COPA America for the 5th time, and the first since 1989. When they last hosted it they won it. Interestingly Brazil have won it EVERY time they have hosted it and they’ll be hoping history repeats itself here.
Bolivia have won the tournament once in 1963.
Brazil go into this one as rather heavy favourites at 1.083 odds. They’ll be missing Neymar who is unfortunately going to miss the entire Copa America. Always sucks when we don’t see the best of the best here.
Bolivia are coming into this one on a bad run and you have to expect they’re just going to park the bus and hope for the best here. Interestingly last time these two teams played it was 0-0.
Unfortunately from a betting standpoint, there’s not too much to bet on. Neymar is out but Brazil have many, many more options including Gabriel Jesus, Philippe Coutinho, and Roberto Firmino.
As the host country you’d think they’d be up for this one to open it and put in a convincing victory but I always hate bets like that – where you’re basically betting a team is going to be relentless and just run up the score.
Bolivia are seriously struggling to score at the moment and it’s hard to back them to score here as like I said – they’ll no doubt be parking the bus.
With Neymar out I’d think Brazil want to prove themselves here with a big win. Brazil win to nil is just 1.33 odds which is brutal so we’ll go with a casual bet on Brazil to win by at least 3 goals. Not really much else worth betting here honestly.
