A 1-1 day for a slight profit yesterday in the English Championship.
We went with Birmingham to bounce back with a win over Barnsley. It took until after the hour mark with Barnsley having the majority of the possession, but Birmingham opened the scoring with Lukas Jutkiewicz in the 69th minute and they scored soon after for a 2-0 victory.
We lost with Derby to beat Bristol City. Derby had the shots but poor finishing was the name of the game in this one and Bristol City deservedly got the 2-1 victory. Disappointing one from The Rams.
We’ll focus on the English Championship again today. Let’s get to it:
QPR vs Swansea Betting Tips:
QPR will be hoping to bounce back after that 2-0 loss to Bristol City. it has been a bit of a slow start for QPR to the season.
Swansea have been pretty solid so far this year and are looking good. They had a nice 3-2 win over Preston on the weekend.
Warburton might end up changing their goalie after a mistake by Joe Lumley in their loss. Liam Kelly may step in there. I’d like to see that. Always good to see a goalie battle.
Swansea have Nathan Dyer looking like he might be out.
Warburton is still sorting things out and Swansea are a good challenge for them. I think this one is a close one and really either team will be happy with a point at this stage. I went into this one looking to back QPR but can’t find enough reasons to do it.

Charlton vs Notts Forest Betting Tips:
One of those games where “team status” overrides current form etc in terms of odds.
Charlton are just up from League One but are playing excellent so far. Lee Bowyer has his team playing well and looking confident with victories over Blackburn and Stoke. Losing to Forest Green wasn’t great however they had that solid 2-2 draw at Barnsley and at home here I like them to be competitive.
Forest meanwhile only registered their first win this weekend which was a nice one against Birmingham. They’re definitely getting sorted out and looking good but I like the confidence Charlton have going here.
I like this to be a competitive game. I think Charlon have what it takes to score here while Notts Forest play a nice attacking game and even though they are away, they will be up for this one. This is one where they know the victory is important this early in the season.
Charlton may be missing Chris Solly the defender too. We might see Erhun Oztumer or Tomer Hemed in the lineup. Joao Carvalho will NOT be playing yet I expect as he isn’t match fit.
Either way with Charltons confidence and Forest building the momentum, I like both teams to come out attacking here.
