A disappointing day in the EPL yesterday but a winning day in the MLS.

I was way off on the Bournemouth vs Everton game. I didn’t expect the goals other were and went with Everton there. That was a bad call unfortunately and Bournemouth beat them 3-1. Just completely wrong on my part there. I did feel Bournemouth were a bit lucky in the win and the xG stats back that up – but I was completely off in terms of goals.

I had Arsenal to win and they blue it with a stupid, stupid defensive mistake and then of course conceding a penalty. Brutal. In saying that Watford were excellent in terms of chances generated. Arsenal were honestly lucky to get the draw.

Had a small play on Minnesota vs RSL to be a draw. Minnesota won that one. However had a bigger play on LA Galaxy to beat Sporting KC and that one came through with ease which was nice.

We have the UEFA Champions League this week so we will of course be looking at that. Small plays to begin with unless I spot a really out there line.

Ajax vs Lille Betting Tips:

In theory, this should be a great game.

Both teams have generally open attacks. Ajax domestically have looked excellent with some big wins lately scoring at least 4 goals in their last 4 games. Lille haven’t been as consistent however still score the goals.

Ajax got here after beating Apoel Nicosia in the playoffs. They also rarely keep clean sheets. Dusan Tadic is killing it for them at the moment.

Lille are one of those teams that struggle on the road and that’s the only issue here. HoweverVictor Osimhen has started the season well, and Lille surely know they aren’t going to grind this one out and need to go for it. Annoyingly the odds have changed since I last placed my bet on this one yesterday. It was 1.75 odds then. So a tough call if you want to go for it or not.

Napoli vs Liverpool Betting Tips:

One thing that impressed me about Liverpool last season was they could turn on a tight defensive win when it mattered. I remember this because I lost a couple of bets when I expected them to score quite a few goals, and they went the defensive route.

They know how to score and they’d win those games 1-0 etc. Now they’re facing Napoli while retaining a 100% record in the English Premier League. Napoli have had 3 solid games in Serie A with a 4-3 loss to Juventus in there.

I think Liverpool has what it takes. They’re just a tier above Napoli in my opinion and while the draw is a likely option, I’m going to take Pool to win.

Other Games:

Some 0.25 plays on the other games taking place unless stated otherwise.. I like to have action in every game when it comes to the Champions League.

Inter vs Slavia Prague: A solid starts for both teams domesitically. Slavia Prague are unbeaten after 9 games. I do think they will struggle to score against Inter though. BTTS = No. 1.80 odds.

Lyon vs Zenit: Lyon have struggled recently domestically. Think I’m going to cheer on Zenit here. Zenit or Draw. 2.00 odds.

Benfica vs RB Leipzig: Feels like one of those games that will be very tight. Betting the draw. 3.40 odds.

Dortmund vs Barcelona: Barcelona are a bit erratic to start the season. I’m going to take the Draw here as well at 3.75 odds.

Chelsea vs Valencia: Chelsea are such a hard team to predict at the moment. I really feel later in the EPL season they are going to be contenders. In saying that I am enjoying watching them, and after that win over Wolves I’m going to take them at 1.83 odds to win. Tempted for more but I’d rather not risk too much with Lampards first foray onto the European Stage.

FC Salzburg vs Genk: Salzburg have been excellent at home so far with 7 wins out of 7. Genk come into this one struggling domestically. The atmosphere here should be electric. I’m going to do over 3.5 goals as despite their domestic issues, I think Genk can make a game of it.
