I’ve already covered Ligue 1 Tips for Saturday and Serie A tips for Saturday so I figure we’ll look ahead to the English Premier League games taking place on the weekend.
Southampton host Burnley and Liverpool head to Norwich on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Aston Villa host Tottenham and Arsenal host Newcastle.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are heavy favourites for their games. Most of the teams are floating around mit-table so it could be a good time to see some separation there.
Let’s see what we got:
Southampton vs Burnley Betting Tips:
Southampton are one of those weird teams who perform better away than at home. They have the 5th best away record in the EPL with 20 points in 13 games, but just 11 points in 12 games for the worst home record.
They come into this one as one of the more on-form teams in the English Premier League however, and Danny Ings is performing very well at the moment.
Burnley also come in with confidence. They have an unbeaten streak going of three games with wins over Man Utd and Leicester. Very impressive stuff.
Soton are missing Ward-Prowse it looks like. That will hurt a bit considering he has the 2nd highest xG in the team.
The weather could be a factor in this one with wind and rain forecast. Could mean a real scrappy game.
Southampton are playing good football at the moment, however have just 8% clean sheets at home yet an 83% scoring rate. They concede 2.33 on average at home and Burnley concede 1.67 away.
Both teams have bad defenses. However both are pretty decent on the xG rankings. In a big mid table clash, I think this will be an open game. Both the over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score are 1.90 odds,

Arsenal vs Newcastle Betting Tips:
Alright Arsenal – time to show what you’re made of.
I was looking at the Spurs game to back however I feel they are just too risky to bet. You never know if they are going to show up or not.
A lot of people are confident about Arsenal. They’re riding a nice unbeaten streak coming into this one although struggle to win games. Many feel the winter break will have helped them really gel as a team.
The big question is whether they will be a bit sluggish or whether they will come out fast.
Newcastle generally play defensive.and on the counter and I expect similar here. I do think Arsenal will break through though.
I’ve been debating Arsenal -1.5 or HT/FT. I’ll go with the handicap.
