Well it was a nice break but I must admit I have been aching to write betting tips again.
With no NHL season either etc it’s been pretty quite for me. I did do some golf and UFC tips over at Sports Betting Tips but nothing too much. Been real quiet on the betting front.
We’ve got the Scottish Premier League starting tomorrow.
Normally I would wait a couple of weeks to watch the games, gather data etc but man I am just itching and hyped for the new season so let’s get right into it.
Livingston at Rangers:
Livingston failed to score against Rangers last season with 3 wins and a draw for Rangers.
Our pre-season has been solid and I like what I am seeing from Rangers.
Livingston had mixed results in the league cup with losses to Alloa and having to go to pens against Raith.
I like a confident display from the champions. 2u on Rangers -2.5.
St Mirren at Dundee:
Newly promoted Dundee host St Mirren who were solid enough last season, finishing top of the relegation group. Dundee looked good in the league cup and I think can bring the goal shere.
St Mirren did average less than a goal a game last season which is a concern. The bookies expect this to be a quiet affair but I think we might be surprised. 0.5u on Over 2.5 goals at 2.20 odds.
St Johnstone at Ross County:
St. Johnstone finished 5th last season while Ross County were in the relegation group and could have been relegated but they had an excellent finish to stay out of the playoff.
Malky Mackay is now in charge of them which is just crazy. Ross County had COVID issues and I am happy to bet against them here. 1u on St Johnstone to win at 2.00 odds.
Celtic at Hearts:
Newly promoted Hearts have a big game against Celtic and it will be an interesting one. Hearts looked solid in the Scottish League Cup. Celtic have had a brutal pre-season including the loss to Midtjylland.
I actually liked the way Celtic played in that first game with a lot of long shots etc and that is something I will be monitoring going forward – could be some goals from midfielders to start backing.
With their defensive issues, feel fine backing 2u on Over 2.5 Goals at 1.80 odds.
The below two games take place on Sunday.
Dundee United at Aberdeen:
Big game here. Aberdeen finished 4th last year and will be looking for better. Dundee Utd did well enough in their return to the SPL. They have had some real tight games in the League Cup. Aberdeen had that scare against Hacken and I think that will give them some professionalism here.
Love Mulgrew being in the Utd squad as he can pull off some great set pieces. Hopefully Shanks has a better season after a crap one last year. 1u on Both Teams to Score at 2.10 odds.
Hibernian at Motherwell:
Motherwell had mixed results in the League Cup and I wasn’t super impressed. They lost a lot of key players last year like Cole, Gallagher and Campbell and are a shell of their former serlves.
Hibs were third place last year, and I think will come out confident here.
I’m going to back Hibs to win at 2.15 odds for 1u.
