The biggest shock of the NBA playoffs came last night, with the Rockets edging past the Clippers 4-3 with a 113-100 win in Texas. And in the NHL, the Western Conference Playoff Final started with the Ducks putting 4 past the Blackhawks, in an easy 4-1, which sees Anaheim take a 1-0 series lead and continue their dominance in this season’s playoffs. They’re looking unstoppable at the moment, but things can change when you get to the tail end of a season, but their big guns are stepping it up when required, and are showing no signs of bottling it.
In Spain, Barcelona wrapped up La Liga title, beating Atletico Madrid 1-0 in Madrid, which was enough to clinch it. There are going to be a lot of questions asked in both halves of Madrid, but there’s going to be heads rolling at Real, while Atletico just need to figure out how to get right back on track, after exceeding expectations previously. De Gea looks to be on his way to Real Madrid, after Manchester United’s season has more or less ended in disappointment. But who else will be heading to Los Galacticos next season? And who will be leaving? Will a certain Gareth Bale still be playing alongside Ronaldo and co?
NBA Playoff Betting Tips:
No games tonight, but the Conference Finals start tomorrow with Golden State squaring up to Houston, and Cleveland head to Atlanta on Wednesday. We’ll be looking at both series on the day.
NHL Playoff Betting Tips:
The Lightning come into this 1-0 down, losing the first game of the series 2-1. The focus was on defense, and it’s going to be more of the same tonight. The Rangers D and the Lightning D are strong units, and it’s where this series is going to be decided. The Rangers are favorites for tonight’s match, but there’s no value there, as we’ve seen that most of the series have been nip-and-tuck, so Tampa look a bit of value as the underdogs. However, we’re going to focus on the strong D of both teams and say that the under 5.5 goals line looks the place to be tonight.
English Premiership Betting Tip
West Brom vs Chelsea
The season is over for Chelsea, so there’s going to be a lot of rested players heading into this, which explains the larger than usual price for the Blues. West Brom are treading water, too, so look at this with an eye on next season. Chelsea will look to rotate their squad, against a team that they haven’t actually had much luck against really. West Brom’s record at home is 2-1-0 of late, and the Baggies represent huge value on that, given that West Brom will be more determined to go for it. We’ll take the draw as well, because both sides might just be content to sit back. West Brom to win or draw is the value bet here, but we wouldn’t talk you out of backing West Brom outright.
