College football and MLB betting tips for September 30th, 2022.

7-6 in college football last week. A pretty wild week with four of those losses being by seven points or less.

29-20 for the season.

Three college football games I like tonight on Patreon, two are below. I will have full coverage of Saturday’s games exclusively on Patreon.

Tulane vs. Houston Betting Tips:

Tulane’s defense has looked amazing and ranks high, but they haven’t played a single good offense and they haven’t played anyone quite like Houston. Tulane has not won at Houston since 2014 and I don’t see that ending here.

Houston is yet to score less than thirty points in a game and they should be able to put up points on Tulane.

This line has just grown throughout the week as Houston was undervalued early. I think they are still a good value at -4, but I wouldn’t go much higher than that. The over also interested me, but it feels maybe a field goal too high.

Houston -4

UTSA vs. Middle Tennessee Betting Tips:

Washington vs. UCLA Betting Tips:

This is a big one for both teams, but the Huskies look like the better team across the board.
The Washington offense has come out hot, scoring more than 39 in each game this season. They’ve had two real tests thus far and won both handily.

I’m not sure if UCLA has had a single test on the schedule thus far. They nearly lost at home to South Alabama (and probably should’ve), but they haven’t played a team anywhere near the talent level of the Huskies. If they gave up 31 to South Alabama, I can’t imagine what Washington can do to them.

Washington -3

Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees Betting Tips:

BAL – Jordan Lyles 4.55 ERA/4.46 FIP
NYY – Domingo German 3.30 ERA/4.42 FIP

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays Betting Tips:

BOS – Nick Pivetta 4.48 ERA/4.32 FIP
TOR – Alek Manoah 2.31 ERA/3.37 FIP

The Jays offense has been hitting the ball very well of late and they hit righties well. They get a great match-up here against Pivetta who has a 5.01 ERA/5.43 FIP over his past five starts.

Manoah has been finishing the season strong with a 1.03 ERA/3.14 FIP. The Sox have hit well of late, but only have a 101 wRC+ against righties.

The seeding is still pretty up for grabs in the Wild Card race so I think the Jays are going to try to win this one.

Jays -0.5 First 5 Innings (-125)

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves Betting Tips:

NYM – Jacob deGrom 2.93 ERA/1.74 FIP
ATL – Max Fried 2.50 ERA/2.73 FIP

Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants Betting Tips:

ARI – Merrill Kelly 3.13 ERA/3.51 FIP
SFG – Alex Cobb 3.67 ERA/2.93 FIP

Kelly has had a great season, but he’s been limping to the end. He has a 3.94 ERA/5.15 FIP over his last five starts. He’s been worse on the road this season and the Giants offense has been much better when playing in San Fran this season.

Cobb has a 3.14 ERA/2.94 FIP over his past five starts and is facing an ice cold offense here. Arizona has just a 59 wRC+ over the past two weeks.

Giants First 5 Innings Moneyline (-130)
