Oklahoma vs. Florida State Betting Tips:
I have had this one circled since it was announced as I really like FSU to dominate this one. Oklahoma really collapsed this season and their defense was a complete mess. They are a team I have no faith in whatsoever and I don’t see them getting up for this one.
Florida State was one of the best rushing teams in the nation this season and they are going against a team that just bled yards against the run. The Seminoles finished the season strong and they were a couple of close losses away from a better bowl game. I think that shows up in the box score here.
Don’t be afraid of the big points here. This is a very lopsided match-up.
Florida State -9.5
Texas vs. Washington Betting Tips:
I would be looking forward to this one if the teams were close to full strength, but many key pieces will be missing on the Texas side. Running backs Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson are both sitting out as they prepare for the draft so this may be a may pass heavy Texas offense. That definitely helps explain the sky-high total.
What I don’t quite get is why Washington is the underdog here. Michael Penix is coming back for next season and he will be playing here. I honestly think that makes all the difference as the offense was explosive with him back there. The Texas defense is tough, but they struggled against the pass, and pass-first teams put up big points on them this season.
Quinn Ewers has looked fantastic at times, but he has struggled with making good decisions. The Washington defense is very good at the pass rush so they should be able to force some bad decisions here.
Texas is more hurt by the number of players sitting out for the draft and Washington has the better QB. Take the points.
Washington +3
