So great to be typing todays update while watching the Barclays Premier League. Felt like forever since we last did this – although this was the shortest break between seasons yet! So guess I can’t complain.
Although I can complain a bit about the football. With our Sportsnet Package we started off with the Man Utd game. Ugh – what a dull game that was. Always disappointing when that happens – 2 teams with such electric attacks and absolutely nothing happens in the game. What’s worse is Romero looked super shaky.
And we’ve now got the Leicester game where they’re up 3-0 and it’s over pretty much – and Bournemouth vs Aston Villa ugh. Bit of a stale game too.
Oh well – least we’ve got football back and that’s the main thing. And after that’s done we have the golf, and then UFC. Quite a good day for sports.
Let’s get to todays tips:
Soccer Betting Tips:
There are 3 games on Sunday, with Arsenal vs West Ham, Newcastle vs Southampton and Stoke vs Liverpool.
First up we are going to take Liverpool 13/10 for the win. They need to start the season off strong – and a draw just won’t do. After last season this is big for Liverpool – especially considering Stoke beat them 6-1 to end the season. Liverpool have to come out strong. Stoke are missing out on Ryan Shawcross due to injury, and of course N’Zonzi is gone so that’s bad as well.
We like Liverpool for the win and if he plays, Benteke to do the business. He’s 6/4 to score – probably still a decent price there.
We’re going to take Southampton to beat Newcastle. We’ve never been impressed by Steve McClaren, and we don’t think he has what it takes. The only issue is Erwin Koeman is in charge of Soton but we think the same excellent philosophy from last year will be the same, and we expect Southampton to get a nice comfortable win here.
UFC Fight Night 73 Betting Tips:
UFC Fight Night 73 is tonight with Teixeira vs OSP as the headliner.
We’re going to take Ovince Saint Preux at -125 odds. This just seems tailor-made for OSP to get the win. He’s phenomenal at counter punching and that’s a solid style which is well matches for Glover. We like OSP to take the win by 1st round KO.
We’ll also do a double bet of Sara McMann and Jared Rosholt – both prices at -250 and -275 respectively.
Rosholt has everything going for him. He’s solid on the ground, he’s got the one KO punch ability, and a strong wrestler. McMann is excellent at takedowns and ground countrol and she should just dominate this fight. Both of them should come up trumps for us.
WNBA Betting Tips:
We’ve got two big losers playing today with the Seattle Storm vs the San Antonio Stars.
Both teams are looking to turn their season around. The Stars are 4 point favourites going into it.
We like the Storm to keep this close and we will take them at +4.
