The English Premiership season just gets weirder and weirder. Seriously. What happened last week? Well, only Manchester City losing to Stoke quite convincingly and then Chelsea losing to Bournemouth later the same day. Oh, and Manchester United drew 0-0 with West Ham, too. So Leicester are top of the league, looking strong, and Arsenal are sitting second. The thing with Manchester City’s result is not the fact they lost, but how convincingly Stoke were able to brush them aside. Shaqiri was really impressive and caused the City defence no end of trouble. Now, they can come out and complain about injuries, but Arsenal are ravaged with injuries, as are several other teams, but it only seems to be Manchester City complaining. If your injuries are that bad, have a strong second-strong and not Wilfred Bony!

Last week, Mark Lawrenson was looking to get back on track after a poor run of form. But how did he get on? Well, he managed one correct score, which was the 1-1 draw between Everton and Crystal Palace. But what else did he get right? Well, he predicted the Arsenal win, of course, but then he also got the Watford win correct. Those short-priced favourites losing really hurt our saviour, that’s for sure. That means we ended up with a loss of -6.23 units, and our entire season’s worth of profit has now vanished and we now have a loss of -1.98 units. Not good enough, Lawro! Definitely not good enough!

You know the usual last bit of the introduction by now. Remember, if you want to be on Mark Lawrenson’s predictions for this week’s English Premiership fixtures, we can’t forget that our friends at Bet365 are doing their Bore Draw promotion again this week. Remember, if you place a bet of up to on any of the correct score, half-time/full-time or scorecast markets, and the game finishes 0-0, Bet365 will refund your money. So once you’ve looked at Lawro’s tips, head on over to our good friends at Bet365 and get your money down.

Nowrich vs Everton

The early kick-off isn’t one to draw me to the pub to watch it, I have to say. Norwich haven’t been great, while Everton make me think of a Monday night, not a Saturday early afternoon. On paper, it doesn’t look too hot either, if I’m being honest. Lawro is going for a home win here – 2-1 for Norwich. The Norwich win is 19/10 and the correct score pays 10/1. His reasoning is that they’re in desperate need of decent results and their home form is critical to their survival. Not a good enough reason, for me. Yes, Norwich got a result against Arsenal, but Everton are fully-fit, playing OK and it’s hard to see them losing here.

But why not use the early kick-off to have a bet and use Bet365’s Bore Draw promotion? Head on over to Bet365 and get involved, because this could well be a 0-0 draw as well as a win for either side. So get on Lawro’s prediction of a 2-1 to Norwich and place your bet at Bet365 and when it’s invariably 0-0, you get your money back!

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

A very interesting game here, with Crystal Palace and Southampton. Both sides have been a bit up and down, Southampton are under-performing, while Crystal Palace are going better than some had thought. You know every week I extol the virtues of Crystal Palace and this time Lawro has listened to me. He’s going for a 2-1 for Crystal Palace, and I tend to agree with him. Southampton were terrible against Aston Villa last week, while Palace were average away to Everton. The Crystal Palace win pays 8/5 and the correct score of 2-1 prediction pays 10/1. Get on!

Manchester City vs Swansea

Time for Manchester City to bounce back? I think so. Swansea are managerless, hopeless and in desperate need of a win. Manchester City had a tricky game midweek in the Champions League, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem against the awful Swansea. Lawro agrees and actually breaks the mould by predicting a 3-0. The Manchester City win pays 3/10 and the correct score is 8/1. Remember that when Lawro predicts 3-0, he’s really saying that he thinks it could be a cricket score. The only bright side of Swansea is that City’s defence have been terrible lately. I’ll go 4-1 to Manchester City, because Swansea are just that poor at the moment.

Sunderland vs Watford

I’m loving Watford at the moment. They’re playing without fear and just going at teams. It’s the same idea Leicester adopted with success, and it’s paying off for Watford, who many had been expecting to struggle. But they sitting nicely in the middle of the table, while Sunderland are struggling. Lawro has been a fan of them lately, too, but thinks it’ll be a 1-1 draw here. The draw is 23/10 and the correct score is 11/2. Long trip, tough place to go, so, yeah, Watford would be happy with a draw, while Sunderland might be desperate for the win. I’ll stick with Lawro here, but maybe even a 0-0. And if you think it’s going to be a 0-0, well… you can click through out Bet365 link in the introduction to take advantage of the Bore Draw promotion.

West Ham vs Stoke

Any reason to get excited for this one? Sorry, West Ham and Stoke fans, but it’s the definition of a mid-table clash that is hard to get excited about. Still, both teams had good results against the Manchester sides last week, and will want to build on that. Lawro is predicting a 1-1 draw, and the draw pays 23/10, while the correct score is 11/2. After a terrible start, I think now’s the time for Stoke to start dominating games like this. They have some great players in their side in the shape of Bojan and Shaqiri and they can damage the best teams in the league, never mind the mid-table teams. I’m thinking a 2-1 Stoke win.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United

Big win for Bournemouth last week, can they keep the momentum going against Manchester United this week? Well, Manchester United had a tough result midweek against Wolfsburg and the travelling isn’t going to have helped their mood any. Add in a trip to the south coast and it might not be the cushy result a lot of people would have been expecting earlier in the season. Lawro is sticking with this though process and is going for a 1-1 draw. It’s 12/5 for the draw and it’s 11/2 for the correct score. You know, I think Bournemouth might be in for a bit of trouble here. They’re still conceding a lot of shots on target, and if it wasn’t for Boruc’s heroics last week, Chelsea would have beat them. I’m all about the Manchester United win, and I’ll say 3-0 because United aren’t shipping many goals in the league.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal

The Aston Villa fightback started last week with a point against Southampton away. Actually, it probably didn’t. Southampton were just not good enough last week, and this week’s match isn’t going to be as easy for them. However, Arsenal have been doing things tough away from home recently at West Brom and Norwich, so maybe, just maybe, Aston Villa fans, there is a glimmer of hope here. Lawro doesn’t think so, he’s going for a 2-0 win for Arsenal. As you would expect, the Arsenal win is odds-on at 8/15 and the correct score is 15/2. Yeah, I think we’ll get an Arsenal win here, Southampton were shocking, and Arsenal are not going to be that bad.

Liverpool vs West Brom

Where do we think Lawro is going for this result? Yes, he’s predicting Liverpool to bounce back from last week’s shock defeat at the hands of Newcastle to beat West Brom 2-0. The Liverpool win pays 2/5, while the correct score pays a measly 5/1. Yeah, no shock here, and Liverpool should win, but West Brom got a good result against Spurs last week and have some confidence flowing through them at the moment. Can they get a win? Probably not, but I don’t think it will be easy for the Reds, that’s for sure.

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Quite an interesting match here. Newcastle are coming off the back of a huge win at home against Liverpool last week, while Spurs dropped a couple of points away to West Brom. But can Newcastle keep that run up? Well, Lawro thinks they’re going to go down to White Hart Lane and get a point with a 1-1 draw. The draw is 9/2 and the correct score is 10/1. Now that’s an interesting score prediction from Lawro. I would have thought he’d have been all over Spurs. Newcastle are still no great shakes, and although Tottenham are coming off a European game, they won 4-1, looked handy and shouldn’t have too many troubles from Newcastle, surely? 3-1 for me to Spurs, but what do I know? I’m not the predictions god that is Mark Lawrenson, that’s for sure.

Leicester vs Chelsea

Monday Night Football is actually a bit of a treat for once. We’ve got the league leaders hosting Chelsea in what is going to be a real test of Leicester’s championship credentials. Sure, Chelsea have been no great shakes, but the thinking is that they have to come good at some point, don’t they? If Leicester can nick the points here against what is still a strong team, things are looking good for the Foxes. But what about Lawro? Well, he’s going for the 1-1 draw here, yet again. It’s 5/2 for the draw and the correct score is 11/2.

Seriously, so many 1-1 predictions. Is this the way Lawro thinks he can get out of this slump? I don’t think so! Yes, the draws pay more, but does he honestly think we’re going to see five 1-1 results this week? He’s in Cuckoo Land! Get it sorted, Lawro, and start trying some difference scores. Ever heard of 0-0 or 2-2? Come on, man!
