It’s Saturday, let’s get to the sports betting tips for today.
It’s a big night ahead of us with UFC 194 but we’ve also got a lot of other sports action today.
Barclays Premier League Betting Tips:
Over the years, when a team like Manchester City loses they usually win big the following week. Not all the time of course – but it’s something that happens enough that we’re going to wager on it here. We like Manchester City to come out here strong and look to dominate. We’re going to take Manchester City -1.5 here which is a nice 1.85 price. They’re going against a Swansea team who are on a run of 5 games in the EPL without a win and we like that continuing big time here.
Even though it’s a Sunday game, we’ll be backing the same as we go with Tottenham Hotspur -1.5. 2.075 for that. Spurs have drawn their last two games but we like them to go off – much like they did against Bournemouth after 2 draws. You can only stifle a team like Spurs for so long and the majority of their home wins have been by 2+ goals. Newcastle are coming off that huge Liverpool win but don’t let that fool you – this team is mediocre and they’re going to get walked all over on Sunday by Spurs.
We also like Watford for a sneaky little win over Sunderland. Watford have shown they can win on the road and they’ve got a few solid victories recently at away grounds – against the likes of Aston Villa, Stoke and Newcastle. Sunderland meanwhile are okay at home but also lost a few big ones against Southampton and Tottenham. It’ll be a tight game but we feel there is just enough value to back Watford.
Scottish Premier League Betting Tips:
We like a feisty St Johnstone team and we’re going to take Celtic vs St Johnstone to be a draw. They’ve played once this season with Celtic running out 3-1 winners but St Johnstone are on a really solid run at the moment with 5 wins in 6 games and the odd one out was a draw. St Johnstone to draw is a massive 15/4 and that’s what we’ll take here although you may want to include the win for St Johnstone which is 12/5 odds. We prefer the other value.
UFC 194 Betting Tips:
Mathematically, the best bet by far is Jose Aldo who you can find at +110 odds. Honestly we hope we’re wrong we really do and we really hope McGregor wins. It’s win win for us as we want him to win so much. However Aldo is clearly the right choice here and has fought much better calibre fighters than Conor has.
We’re also on Chris Weidman at -135 odds. Weidman is an excellent fighter who for some reason never gets his due. We like Rockhold but there are certain tiers of fighters and we believe Rockhold is just below the top tier, while Weidman is in it. The man is undefeated, has wins over Belfort, Machida and Silva and even prior to that had some excellent results. Take the 2013 fighter of the year to go 14-0.
