The final day of betting for the 2015 year couldn’t be a better one as we have the NCAA College Football playoff games tonight. The college football playoff is still pretty new, but it is already must-see TV and it really makes you wonder why they haven’t been doing this for years. I can’t remember more people being interested in the college football post season than they are this year. We have four great teams going for their shot at the National Championship tonight.
The early game is the one I am most looking forward to as Oklahoma takes on Clemson. This one could see some serious points scored as both teams boast powerful offenses that have dominated all season. The total on that one is set at 63.5 despite them averaging a combined 84 points per game. This is the one with all the fireworks.
The late game is Michigan State taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide. This one is more defensive oriented and bookmakers currently see Alabama as a big favorite in this one at 10.5 points. Both of these teams only lost one game in the regular season and both games were by less than a touchdown. These two teams definitely deserve to be here tonight and this game could be a war. Vegas likes the score being low with a total of just 46 and even that might be generous.
College Football Playoff Betting Tips:
Clemson comes into today’s game against Oklahoma as the only undefeated team in football. It hasn’t been easy for them though as their 6-6-1 record against the spread would show. Recently they were big favorites of 20.5 points against South Carolina and only managed to win by five as well as a game against Syracuse they won by “only” 10 when they were favored by 30. They’ve been living on the edge for the past couple of weeks and Oklahoma might just be the team to push them over.
Oklahoma has been a really great team down the stretch. Their win over Baylor started them on three straight wins against top 25 teams which I think makes them the more playoff ready team here. They were basically fighting for their spot in this game down the stretch there and they came out on top. I like Oklahoma +3.5 here based off that run and their more powerful offense. They throw for more yards, rush for more yards and score more touchdowns. Give me the Sooners and over 63.5 points. I like Oklahoma to win this one, but it won’t be because their defense showed up. Quite the opposite.
A classic case of SEC bias in the line of Michigan State and Alabama? Or is Alabama really that much better? Michigan State’s four big wins this year (Iowa, Ohio State, Oregon and Michigan) all came by four points or less which shows how tough they are, but also how lucky they were as well. They are known for their defense, but one look at the numbers shows that Alabama has the much more dominating defense here. They allow 258 yards and 14 points per game compared to Michigan State’s 342 yards and 20.5 points. Alabama is just a better team and I’m willing to lay the points. Alabama -10 to the National Championship game.
