Saw an article in the Washington Post the other day – what NFL playoff games to watch and what to skip. What? There’s 4 games in the Divisional Rounds. Who the hell is skipping any of them if you’re a football fan?
The stuff people write about. And the best part? The end result of the article is “There’s none you should skip”. Good stuff Washington Post.
Chiefs vs Patriots Betting Tips:
The Patriots go into this one as just 4.5 point favourites, with an Over/Under of 42 points.
Who will win the game is a bit iffy. Funny story. I was in Vegas during Week 1 of the NFL and I was watching the opening games while in the hot tub in my room at the Luxor. I watched 10 minutes of the Chiefs play and declared “this is a super bowl team”. I jumped out of the tub, got dressed, ran down to the sportsbook soaking wet and placed a futures bet on the Chiefs at +2000.
They then proceeded to lose their next 5 games, making me look very stupid. However they have since came back and prior to the wild card round I was telling all my friends what a genius I was for having picked them – and talking about possibly trading off my bet etc for guaranteed profit.
Went to check the odds on them winning the Super Bowl? +2400 prior to the wild card round. Sigh. So that futures bet didn’t even come close to being value. Excellent. And now I look like a tool.
Anyway you have the Pats offense and the Chiefs offense and that line of 42 points seems very low. We’ll take Over 42 in this one and we wouldn’t be surprised to see us win that bet by the end of the 3rd quarter.
Packers vs Cardinals Betting Tips:
Packers go into this as 7 point underdogs.
It’s amazing the Packers are even here – but we saw what they are made of with their win last week against the Washington Redskins. Although I think it was just one game too many for the Redskins and the pressure got to them.
These teams played Week 16 and Rodgers was sacked an insane 8 times. The OL looked sharper last week though and that will help.
The thing with the Packers is we just think it’s really hard to bet against them. They seem to always find their way – and they have the experience at this level. The Cardinals are a solid team who have a lot going for them both defense and offense.
On paper this should be an easy game for the Cardinals in all honesty – but we actually think Packers will end up sneaking the win. It’s just the way they are. So we will be taking the Packers +7 and might even place a value bet on the money line.
