On June 13th, 2014 we will see the second match of Group A as Mexico take on Cameroon.
This will be the 2nd day of the World Cup. The 1st day has just the one game – Brazil vs Croatia. Brazil are of course favourites to win the group, with Croatia and Mexico both practically the same odds to qualify. Croatia are evens, and Mexico are 11/10. Cameroon are a fair bit off at 9/2.
Mexico were very poor and disappointing in qualifying for the World Cup, winning only a couple of their matches and requiring a playoff against New Zealand. They won just 2 of the games in the qualifiers which is insane considering the level of competition there. Cameroon did a decent enough job to get in.
This should be an interesting match-up. Mexico know going into it Brazil will have likely beaten Croatia, so if they can get the win they can leapfrog Croatia and put immediate pressure on them.

Mexico vs Cameroon Betting Tips:
The odds are quite interesting. Despite Mexico being forecast to potentially finish 2nd, the bookies are giving us quite lucrative odds for them to beat Cameroon. You just can’t count out Cameroon though – if they play like they did in the last portion of the game against Germany in a friendly a few weeks ago, they have the potential to deliver quite the upset.
I have not been impressed with Mexico at all, to be honest. They’ve looked flat and out of ideas and lacking creativity. I also think Cameroon have the players to make things happen.
I think this is actually a game where it is a coinflip on who will win. And based on that I’m going to take the biggest odds option there, which is Cameroon to win. I think it is a very close game – and yet with it being a game where both teams need to win to really stand a chance of qualifying – as it’s technically the easiest game for either team – they’re going to be pushing like crazy.
I’m betting Cameroon to win .
At this time, I’m going to stay away from the Over/Under 2.5 goals market. I’m just not sure exactly how each team will line up, and I can make arguments for either side.
However if you are looking for value, 8/5 is a fair price for Over 2.5 goals in this game. Both teams have been scoring in friendlies and as I said previously – this is a “must-win” game for both teams, so you’d hope they would go all out. The heat should not affect either group of players.

To further on from my previous pick, I do believe both teams have the ability to score in this game. And with me liking Cameroon to win, I’ll be placing a bet on the combination bet of Result/Both Teams To Score. In this case it will be Cameroon & Yes – 15/2 odds .
Cameroon-Cameroon is tempting as well for them to be leading at half-time and full-time, but the World Cup can be scary stuff. Sometimes teams just shut their doors early and I could see that with this game. So I’m going to stay away from that one for now.
That’s about it for Cameroon vs Mexico. Should be an interesting game and hopefully it will be a lively affair and not both teams just attempting to scrape a point.
