Group B in Euro 2016 kicks off with Slovakia vs Wales on Saturday, June 11th. The next game in the group will be Russia vs England which takes place shortly after this one is done.
Wales and Slovakia are the teams expected to end up 3rd and 4th in Group B respectively, although the bookies are giving more faith to Wales with them at 8/15 odds to qualify from Group B. Russia are 4/11 and Slovakia are 11/10 with England the heavy favourites at 1/10 odds.
Wales came runners up in their group to qualify with a 6-3-1 record. They managed to beat Belgium and draw with them as well which was very impressive. However they truly are a one man team for the most part, with Gareth Bale scoring 7 of their 11 goals during qualifying and being such a massive force.
Slovakia ended the group stages with an impressive 7-1-2 record beating out the likes of Ukraine to 2nd place. While they really only had two difficult teams in the group in Spain and Ukraine, they managed to beat Spain at home although struggled against Ukraine a fairb it.
Slovakia vs Wales Match Betting Odds:
Slovakia: 15/8, 2.87, +188
Wales: 13/8, 2.62, +1.63
Draw: 2/1, 3.00, +200
Slovakia vs Wales Match Betting Tips:
I’m absolutely astounded by the odds on this one – and I’ve got to tip Wales to win.
Wales are an extremely solid team defensively and of course they have one of the best players in the tournament in Gareth Bale who you can surely count on to show up here. Slovakia are a fairly solid team of course and you have to expect Marek Hamsik to cause a lot of problems. Both me and Fraser tipped hm to be their top goalscorer.
However I think the price of Wales is just too much to ignore. I mean just look at the betting odds alone for the group and how strong Wales are in there. The bookies seem to be giving them respect within the group odds but not here against the arguably easiest opponents in the group.
Slovakia mainly have one danger man which is Hamsik and all Wales have to do is stop him and that will make their life a hell of a lot easier. I’m backing Wales to win.
Slovakia vs Wales Prop Bets:
Regardless of whether you think Wales will win or lose, I think it’s a very good bet to place on Gareth Bale scoring anytime.
I’m personally never a fan of betting the first goalscorer or the last goalscorer as I feel that makes it a bit of a crap shoot – however over 90 minutes Gareth Bale is currently 2.40 odds to score anytime and that’s a price I absolutely love.
Bale consistently scored in qualifying and unlike Hamsik – he’s someone that Slovakia are just going to be unable to stop.
