Tuesday, June 21st is when the final games of Group C take place in the European Championships. Germany take on Northern Ireland and Poland take on Ukraine.
For anyone following my betting tips from before the tournament began – I took the group forecast of Germany 1st – Poland 2nd. If your sportsbook offers the option to cash out I’d recommend doing it. It’s a pretty good return ($200 bet for me gets back $450 instead of $550) and I’m happy with that.
Ukraine unfortunately with their 2-0 loss to Northern Ireland, were the first team to officially be eliminated from UEFA Euro 2016. They sit bottom of the group after 2 games and even if they won 6-0 it wouldn’t matter. Although considering I tipped and bet Ukraine to score no goals at 20/1 – I hope they bloody well don’t! What a nice payout that one will be to an already profitable Euro 2016.
And then there is Poland. They pretty much went against Germany looking for a draw and they got it. It was an interesting game as they had played Germany before so they knew how the Germans worked and how they played. They were quite happy to sit back and were able to defend smartly against the Germans. While Germany had the largest quantity of attacks – UEFA.com lists 77 dangerous attacks – it’s hard to really define too many of them as truly dangerous. Poland so far have showed some solid if unspectacular performances.

This is such a tricky one because having been eliminated, you have to wonder how Ukraine will play. Some teams play for national pride while other teams just give up as we’ve seen many times before. It can really go both ways.
This is where it can be very tricky to bet. Look at how the groups are – Poland know that no matter the result in the other game, a draw will be more than enough for them. If they draw and Germany win they’re 2nd, if Northern Ireland win they’re 2nd, and if it’s a draw guess what? They’re also 2nd.
So either way – as long as Poland draw they are through.
It makes it a lot tighter when it comes to providing betting tips and I’d recommend only a small bet. Despite a draw being so big for them I do think Poland will win this game and Lewandowski will get on the score sheet. I’m going to take Poland to win as the value is there, and I love their defense at the moment.
