It’s Wednesday here at the SBT Offices which of course means golf tips – and we’ve got a doozy this week with the USPGA Championship.

It was quite a fun time in Canada last week at the RBC Canadian Open and oh man – did we ever come close there.

Our two main picks were Dustin Johnson and Jim Furyk and DJ did everything he could to win that one. Holy crap is he at the top of his game right now and you get the feeling it could continue(no surprise he’s favourite here) but no-one could count on the amazing Jhonattan Vegas. Vegas went -8 on the final day to take it out of nowhere. The odds for him to win going into round 4 were huge and no-one would have been able to predict that.

The PGA Championship is an interesting one. With no real course history to go on the criteria for most winners is either one of the top guys like McIlroy or day, or the guys on the level below that which are breaking through – such as Bradly, Dufner and Kaymer.

Based on that we’ve got four betting tips.

The first ones are the top guys – we’ll be backing both Jason day and Jordan Spieth.

Day hasn’t been in the best form but he’s still hanging about up there and he’s not one of those golfers who will ever go off form. He can turn it around any time and turn on the form. We saw him do that last year and I’ve got a quarter unit on him to do the same this year.

I’m also betting a half unit on Spieth to win and E/W.

I mean just look at Spieths odds – 14/1. That’s incredible. Take advantage of the free bet from any of the above and you’re good to go there. 14/1 odds on one of the top if not THE best golfers in the world and yeah I’ll take that anytime. I know Spieth is off-form but I also know what he is capable of.

Looking further down the card I’ve got to take the 25/1 Sergio Garcia. Everyone is talking about Dustin Johnson and his form – hell I opened this article up talking about that – but you can’t forget about Sergio Garcia and his form. I’m going with a half unit bet on Garcia to win and E/W hoping his form continues and he gets the big win here.

I’m also taking Brand Snedeker. He’s 55/1 but I have noticed him lately and his form. He’s had a poor run with a lot of cuts but he performed slightly better at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and also the Open Championship. He then really came into form at the RBC Canadian Open and he might be heating up just at the right time.
