It was a winning week last week with the golf tips.

I tipped Rory McIlroy to finish in the Top 5 at the WGC HSBC Champions and he did so for a cash. It was only 1/1 odds but it was something I was very happy with.

Generally when I bet I bet them to win and also each/way to cover winning and a place. But this time around I just felt extremely confident that Rory wouldn’t win but WOULD place. So it was pretty darn cool to see that actually come to fruition.

Onwards and upwards to this week as we cover the Shriners Open, and I also take a look at tonights NHL action.

Shriners Open Betting Picks:

The Shriners Hospitals for Childrens Open takes place this week. It’s got a fond place in my heart after Jason Bohn got a 35/1 cash for me last year at this very event. I’ll probably bet him juts for the sake of it this week.

However I’ve got 4 actual bets. The first one is Nick Watney. I loved seeing Watney back in action at the Safeway Open as it looked unlikely he’d even be playing golf until 2017. So it was cool to see him and I liked what he did there. At 80/1 I feel he’s a pretty decent price . I won’t go full hog or anything becaues I want to wait and see how his back holds up but he’s worth a quarter unit bet to Win & E/W.

I’m also on Smylie Kaufman. I was rewatching last years event yesterday and there was just something great about the way he handled the course. He looked right at home.

I can’t ignore Ryo Ishikawa and his incredible form though. He may be a bit outclassed but I love what he is doing. I bet on him at 70/1 when the lines opened and he’s already moved to 50/1 so clearly people are in agreement with me.

My final bet is Martin Laird. I think he’s coming in hot after a good performance at the Safeway Open and will have his confidence back.

All of them are to win & E/W Btw.

NHL Picks for November 2nd, 2016

Only the one pick tonight which is the Canadiens to win in regulation. The only concern with the Habs is they don’t feel that “rush” when they need to score so that’s why you rarely see any goals in the first period from them. However they’ve got a ton of solid performances and going against a Canucks team in a downward spiral. Need to get on that.

In the other two games I don’t have a strong feeling one way or the other. The only bet I would advise for them is Over 5.5 but I don’t feel uber confident about them.

The Red Wings vs Flyers game is the one I like to go over the most but both games have the potential to do so. The Flyers defense and goaltending is poor while the Penguins offense is hot. Personally though I’m only betting the Habs in regulation.
