Last weekend could have signalled an early end to Manchester City’s title ambitions if their performance is an indication of how their season is going to be against the bigger teams. Guardiola’s boys were outsmarted by Conte’s Chelsea side, as the Blues ran out 3-1 winners and solidified their place at the top of the English Premiership. Leicester are slowly slipping towards a relegation battle, as Sunderland finally got a deserved win. And then later on Saturday, Arsenal sent out a warning to everyone with a 5-1 demolition of London rivals West Ham. Does this mean we’re going to have a two-horse London-based race for the title? Possibly. Especially with the result of the weekend in Bournemouth, as Liverpool blew a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3. Is it enough to end their title hopes? Probably not, but with Arsenal and Chelsea looking strong, Liverpool can’t be dropping points like that, especially with a 3-1 lead!
Mark Lawrenson had another great week when it came to his predictions. Sure, he got off to a miserable start with Saturday’s early kick-off, but he turned things around and ended up with seven correct results and two correct scores. He didn’t pick any of the real shocks, and he got a tad lucky with Everton’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but sometimes you need a bit of luck in the betting game. But how does that translate into a profit or a loss for last week’s Lawro Predictions? Lawro actually made a great profit of +10.76 units last week. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking, “Scott, how does that great win leave his overall result? Surely he’s close to being in profit now?” Well, Lawro has actually made it back into profit! Yes, the Liverpool legend is now in profit to the tune of +0.04 units! Unblelievable, Jeff! I mean, I doubt it will last too long, but hey, a profit is a profit and we’re back on the right track with Lawro’s fantastic predictions.

Well, in the run-up to Christmas, it seems like Lawro is making a few bold predictions to get us into a nice profit before the big day. I mean, I was shocked when I saw he had predicted a win for Leicester over Manchester City. Now, to be fair to Leicester, it is at home, but Lawro never goes against the big boys! Plus, he’s also taking a bit of a punt predicting a win for Burnley, given that they’re a big price of 5/2, and he’s even going for a 2-0 win at a fancy enough price! Maybe he’s started on the brandy a bit earlier than usual and it’s doing weird things to his predictions. Still, we don’t complain if that means Lawro’s tips are even better than usual!
