What a fun race the Singapore Grand Prix was last week.
We said Vettel would be worth a small bet to win and he duly delivered. It did help that Hamilton retired but even Rosberg couldn’t get in there and didn’t even finish on the podium.
We also had Bottas on a Top 6 finish at 2/1 odds and he delivered. Finally we tipped both Toro Rosso cars to win and despite the early stall – we managed to cash for yet another win.
We’re now up by a solid amount as the F1 2015 season draws to a close. Still another 6 races to go through including the Japanese Grand Prix on September 27th, which is what we will be providing betting tips for this week.
It’s got to rain at some point during this circuit – it always seems to.
Last year saw Lewis Hamilton take it down. This is yet another circuit that has been dominated by Sebastian Vettel over the last few years. Since 2009 he has won it a whopping 4 times with both Hamilton and Button managing to blogk the streak. It’s a race that seems to suit the Germans, with Schumacher also a multiple time winner in his Ferrari.
Schumacher has won it 6 times and Vettel 4 – so it would be huge for Vettel to win and close that gap.
This is of course at Suzuka where it has been since 2010 after leaving the Fuji Speedway. It should be a solid race and really there’s no outright winner here – the top 3 could easily sneak in.
Let’s get to the F1 Betting Tips for the Japanese Grand Prix:
Japanese Grand Prix Winner: Nico Rosberg
Rosberg is priced at 7/2 to win the Japanese Grand Prix. We’re back on a proper circuit, so that will suit the Mercedes and they’ll be back up to speed. When you look at the circuit records Hamilton actually stands out more than Nico(hence the odds) but we feel Rosberg has been the better driver lately, and a lot closer to Lewis than earlier in the season. This is a prime position for him to win.
Japanese Grand Prix Points Finish: Carlos Sainz Jr
Following off his 9th place finish in the Singapore Grand Prix, we’re going with Carlos Sainz Jr. to get in the points again. He’s the most consistent of the drivers and fundamentally it’s a good chassis. We like Torro Rosso to be close here with Sainz Jr sneaking into the points.
Long Shot Bet: Massa Podium Finish
Coming off a very poor showing in Singapore, the odds on Massa are weak. We can’t see Williams struggling as much as they did then, but it’s still going to be iffy. We call them long shot bets for a reason, but we’ll go with Massa at 7/1 as we think he might just sneak it. Massa got in the points here last season with a 7th place finish. We’ll be hoping for much better and that the rain may take out a few of the top cars.
