Baseball is back and the NBA playoff race is in full swing. This is the best time of the year for sports as there is always more games than you can possibly keep up with. That means a lot of great betting opportunities as well and tonight is no exception. We have a full slate of NBA and MLB games today with a number of great games.
The NBA schedule is highlighted by a really fun match-up between the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder. This game features two freak athletes and MVP contenders in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Russell Westbrook. Both of these teams are fighting for playoff positioning and should be going all-out tonight. There will be highlights from this one. Many, many highlights.
This weekend saw the Raptors pass the Wizards for the third seed in the Eastern Conference. That race will be tight as we head to the end of the season although it’s questionable what the better seed truly is. If the Cavaliers finish second, do you really want them in the second round as a third seed? Or do you want to take your chances with Boston? An interesting problem, for sure.
MLB Betting Tips:
One of the highest scoring games yesterday was the Colorado Rockies at the Milwaukee Brewers. That game went over the posted total and there is a good chance that tonight’s does as well. Zach Davies is a solid pitcher, but it’s hard to picture him shutting down the Rockies lineup. Lefty Tyler Anderson goes for the Rockies and he’s in for a tough match-up as last season the Brewers had the 5th best OPS against lefties in all of baseball. There will be runs in this one and over 8 runs is in play.
Another lefty that we are targeting today is CC Sabathia of the Yankees. He was one of my favorite pitchers to go against last year and he’s another year older. The Rays are decent against lefties, but this one is all about Sabathia. I think the Rays will hit him and hit him hard today. Tampa +109
A pitcher that I am expecting big things from this year is Sean Manaea of the Oakland Athletics. As a rookie last year he had a 3.86 ERA with that number shrinking down to 3.09 at home. He’s home today against the Angels who only have one hitter that scares me. I like Manaea to deal today and the Athletics +117 to win this one.
NBA Betting Tips:
The Wizards will look to make up ground in their race for the playoffs with a win tonight. They get Charlotte tonight who is just one game out of the eighth seed. This game means a lot to both teams, but the home court advantage should carry the Wiz. They are simply a much better team and match-up well against the Hornets. Washington -3.5 should make the race interesting down the stretch.
The Milwaukee Bucks were one of the hottest teams in the NBA in March and will look to carry that over into April tonight. They have been a much better team since Khris Middleton returned to the lineup and they should keep things close tonight in OKC. The Bucks +5.5 will play well and it’ll be up to Westbrook to win this one for the Thunder.
