Well – a scary moment for Cowboys fans last nigh as Tony Romo went off injured. Very scary to see that considering how good the Cowboys and especially Romo have been playing lately. Hopefully he won’t miss a week and the Cowboys can get back to it.
It’s a big night tonight, as the NBA is finally back and we see the defending champions, the San Antonio Spurs in action. They are at home to the Dallas Mavericks.
There are two other games tonight – the Orlando Magic vs the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Houston Rockets in LA to take on the Lakers.
There’s also a full board on the NHL, and yep just a ton of sports tonight. Can’t beat it eh?
Let’s get to the sports betting tips for October 28th, 2014:
NBA: Lakers vs Rockets Betting Tips
We’re going with the LA Lakers to cover the point spread tonight.
They are 7 point underdogs, and are a team no-one has much hope for this season. However we watched a lot of them during the pre-season and were impressed by their offense at times.
Nash being out is obviously very hard – but the Lakers still have Kobe, and you have to hope he is going to rally the troops especially on opening night.
Lakers are a battered team but they’ve got a lot to prove, and we think the 7 points might be a bit too much for their home opener.
NBA: Pelicans vs Magic Betting Tips
Pelicans are -9.5 favourites tonight but we feel that is well deserved.
They’re currently rebuilding but they’re just so much confidence in their camp at the moment with Anthony Davis there. They’ve also added a lot of depth this season and are all rolling on confidence.
Magic aren’t bad – but Oladipo being out is hard for them – he is a solid guard who will be missed. They’ve got a new offense that’s going to take time to gel – and of course Frye is out with a sprained MCL.
This game is ripe for an Orleans big, big win.
NHL Betting Tips: Away Teams +3.5
One betting prop we can place in the NHL is who will do better that night? The home teams or the away teams? We then add up all the goals they score – and with tonights handicap add 3.5 goals on top of the road teams, and that’s our bet.
We are betting Away Teams +3.5 tonight. There’s a lot of tight games and a lot of the teams with the better record are playing on the road. Wild might have a good bounce back night. Devils could make things tough for the Penguins. Senators might get the win over the Blue Jackets.
Kings should beat the Flyers. Ducks are on the road in Chicago, and the two big ones are the Sharks on the road as they play the Avs, and Montreal who we hope bounce back in spectacular fashion tonight in Calgary.
It should be a close one, but we think the 3.5 goals is enough and the odds of 2.00 make it well worth a bet.
