We came close to another big cash last week with the +4000 Ryan Palmer. Palmer should have at least made the top 5 for us in the Valero Texas Open. Unfortunately he struggled early in the final round and although he recovered, he ended up in 6th place.
1 less stroke and it would have been a winning week. Oh well.
I’m not tipping the Zurich Classic this week. Just a complicated tournament that I’ll watch purely for enjoyment out of anything else.
I’m focused purely on the Volvo China Open this week and the LPGA. But even then I’m not fully confident so we’ll go through the NHL series as well.
Golf Tips for April 26th, 2017:
So in the Volvo China Open I’ve got two picks: David Lipsky and Peter Hanson.
I like Lipsky as he is coming in on tremendous form. I loved his performance at the Shenzhen and he could have won that sucker if he had a better start. He’s someone who can really ride the momentum and I’m going to back him for a quarter unit to keep it up.
I’m also on Peter Hanson. He performed good here last year and I think his price is nice.
I’ve had some people ask me about Haotong Li and if he can repeat his performance. I don’t think so, but at 40/1 it’s worth a go considering how badly he owned this course last year. Even if he starts poorly that sort of thing will give him confidence.
I’m also betting in the LPGA Texas Shootout. Had to go with Lexi Thompson to win. It’s not even a good price but after what happened to her at the ANA Inspiration I said to myself I’d bet her blindly next time out. Here it is. I’m also on Cristie Kerr. Coming in with great form and did a great job here previously.
NHL Series Playoff Betting Tips:
I’m on the following:
Blues to win their series: I think these are going to be close matchups but home ice is a big enough factor for me. I didn’t rate the Predators much during the season and I think the Blackhawks sweep may affect them negatively. Blues win tonight it’s going to be new territory for them.
Ducks to win their series: I just wasn’t impressed enough with Edmoton. That 7-0 game? Man no team that put in a crappy performance like that deserves to make it further. The way they have played some of the games too where they look so lackadaisical really bugs me as well.
Rangers to win their series: I just think they have looked more like a playoff team over the course of the season. In saying that, Senators at their price really aren’t a bad bet at all. Just have to go with who I think will progress regardless of the odds.
Penguins to win their series: It’s a right 50/50 toss up between the Penguins and the Capitals and the Penguins price is too good for me to ignore.
