The Spurs were somehow available to defeat the Rockets on Tuesday without Kawhi Leonard for much of the fourth quarter and overtime. It was a great team performance highlighted by Danny Green having a career highlight game and Manu Ginobili stepping up in a big way. Kawhi Leonard is listed as questionable for tonight’s game and you have to wonder if Greg Poppovich might just keep in out in hopes of having him at 100% for game seven. It’d be a risky move, but it might be the best play for this Spurs team with game seven being at home. It’ll be interesting to see what they do.
Houston looked tired down the stretch and that might be because they are playing a seven-man rotation right now. When those guys are all on and clicking, they are a lights out lineup, but rest is important in a playoff series and you have to wonder if we’ll see Sam Dekker or Montrezl Harrell get some run in tonight’s game. That could be huge for the Rockets, Kawhi or no Kawhi.
NBA Betting Tips:
I am leaning on the side of no Kawhi Leonard tonight. Or if he plays and things get rough for the Spurs, him taking a seat until game seven. While it would be nice for San Antonio to close this one out tonight, the risk is just too big for them to try and get it done tonight. The odds are against them as is and this series was always destined to go seven. I think the Rockets -6.5 get it done tonight and by a big margin. The Spurs have their eyes on game seven.
MLB Betting Tips:
The Mariners are the hottest offense in baseball right now. They just came off two games scoring 11+ and that was without Nelson Cruz in the DH role. They’ll get him back tonight for game one of a series against Toronto. They face Marco Estrada who has good surface stats, but the peripherals show he can be gotten to. The Mariners will send Chase DeJong to the mound so if they want to get over .500 for the first time this year, they’ll need to score some runs. Over 9 runs is the play here.
Another over I am loving tonight is the Giants vs. the Reds. Just last week Ty Blach faced the Reds and allowed eight earned runs in just three innings of work. He goes against Bronson Arroyo who is a very, very hittable pitcher. This is a great total bet as it is set really low for some reason. Over 8 runs in this one should be a cinch.
Dallas Keuchel has returned to form early for the Astros tonight and he’ll get one of his biggest tests of the season against the Yankees in New York tonight. The Yanks have been killing baseballs this season at home, but Keuchel has been shutdown. New York sends Pineda to the mound and I think that Houston wins the pitching battle. The Astros offense hasn’t had quite the jump off the pages numbers of the Yankees, but they are very dangerous. I think that both the pitching and hitting sides favor the Astros in this one so I was surprised to see them as a slight underdog. I’ll be jumping all over it tonight with Astros +115.
