After the craziness that was the 2018 Rose Bowl, the College Football Championship is set as the Alabama Crimson Tide face the Georgia Bulldogs. The SEC is really dominating this year, but how is that unlike any other year? Alabama opens the game as a -4.5 favorite. Let’s just hope it’s more like yesterday’s exciting Rose Bowl than yesterday’s boring Sugar Bowl. That game is next Monday.
For today, it’s back to the pros. A full slate of NBA and NHL games dominates the schedule as weekday football is just about over with here. Only four weeks of NFL left and one college game so from here until baseball season, it’s basketball and hockey time. These have been really fun seasons thus far so now is a great time to jump on if you haven’t already.
NBA Betting Tips:
The NBA schedule is a monster and tonight it is going to eat the Portland Trailblazers. They are on their third road game in four nights and start tonight’s game less than 24 hours after their last one. That is a nightmare for an NBA team and that’s before you consider they are playing LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. We hate the schedule for them, but we have no problem profiting from it. Cavs -8.
The Clippers have had a nightmarish season, but they come into this one with a three game winning streak and are finally getting Blake Griffin back. Throw in the fact that they are playing the Memphis Grizzlies whose season has been even more of a nightmare. Tonight, they go for four. Clippers -5.
NHL Betting Tips:
Despite the current records of both teams, the Flyers and Penguins is one of the best rivalries in the NHL and they always seem to play great games. The last time these two played saw a 5-4 overtime thriller and the game before that had eight total goals. I am smelling an over here. These two teams have struggled this year, but they can score. Over 5.5 incl OT/SO is a great play in what should be an exciting game.
The Washington Capitols are once again the top team in the Metro division and look poised for another playoff early exit run. They draw the Hurricanes tonight who have beat them the last couple times out, but we like them to even the score here. I’d have expected them to be favored here, but I’ll grab them as a very small underdog. Capitols +105 is our play.
One last game that we’re looking at is the Maple Leafs and Lightning. These are two of the most exciting teams in the league this year and we are hoping that they do some exciting stuff tonight. By that we mean, scoring a bunch of goals. If you are looking for a game to get you back into hockey after football, this is the one to watch. Tampa is first in goals per game while the Leafs are fourth. These teams should fill it up tonight and our play is over 6 including OT/SO.
