Last night we saw the Milwaukee Bucks finish off the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons had a nice little season, but they were the worst team in the playoffs and the Bucks were the very best. The Bucks won every game of this series by sixteen points or more. This was their first round one playoff win since 2001.
They will meet the Boston Celtics in the next round and that should be a good one. These two teams went to seven games last season, but they are much different teams.
The Bucks morphed into one of the best teams in the league thanks in big part to the addition of coach Mike Budenholzer and Giannis Antetokounmpo becoming an MVP. While the Celtics will have Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward for them which they didn’t have last season. This series should be fantastic with every home game being insane.
We have four NBA games on the slate tonight as well as two huge game sevens in the NHL as the Sharks and Golden Knights, and Maple Leafs and Bruins play winner take all games. It’s going to be a fantastic night of sports.
NHL Playoffs Betting Tips:
Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins: This definitely feels like a game where the location of game seven is what will decide the series. Well, this one is in Boston and Toronto is… sort of known for blowing games like this. Fair or not, that reputation is here for a reason. Tuuka Rask has looked really good over the last couple of games and I think he shows up big in this game seven.
NBA Playoffs Betting Tips:
San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets: This series is 2-2 and a lot of people are using that as a reason to take the Spurs. I don’t see it. The Nuggets entered the playoffs with no experience. They lost game one partially due to that inexperience then came back and won game two. They’d then never played on the road in a hostile environment and lost game three, but came back and won game four. They are the better team here and I think they’ve unlocked the mystery of the playoffs. I see them winning this and the next one to move on.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers: I didn’t get any series in the first round as wrong as I got this one. The Thunder went 4-0 against the Blazers in the regular season and I really thought that would continue here. It has turned out to be quite the opposite with Damian Lillard carrying his squad to another level while Paul George has been far from the MVP candidate we saw in the regular season. I think the Blazers finish it off here.
MLB Betting Tips:
Washington Nationals at Colorado Rockies: Nobody cares about baseball tonight with all these other games going on, but this is a great value game here. Patrick Corbin is a fantastic strikeout pitcher and he’s going against one of the worst offenses in baseball. Yes, Coors Field is scary but the Rockies just haven’t been hitting. Throw in Chad Bettis, a mediocre pitcher at best, going for the Rockies and I think the Nats roll here.
