A very nice weekend in sports this weekend. We got some really great NBA games this weekend between the Blazers and Warriors, and Bucks and Raptors. The Warriors have continued to impress without Kevin Durant as they came back from another big halftime deficit in game three to grab the road win. They now lead that series 3-0 and have a chance to close it out tonight in Portland.
While the Bucks and Raptors played a double overtime thriller last night that could’ve gone either way. It wasn’t until Giannis Antetokounmpo fouled out that the Raptors were able to steal this game. The Bucks played pretty bad and still got this one to double overtime so that has to be encouraging for Milwaukee at least. Game two is tomorrow.
This weekend also saw Brooks Koepka win the PGA Championship in a match that wasn’t even all that close. Brooks had a monster first round that put him in the lead and nobody ever really even came close until the final day. Brooks was able to close it out and win another major. Graeme had that pick on Wednesday so I hope you were able to jump on it.
Also, last night we saw the St. Louis Blues get a huge road win to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
NBA Betting Tips:
Golden State Warriors at Portland Trail Blazers: The Warriors have done well to come back in the last two games after falling behind early. They’ve gotten there with some great defense and some outstanding performances from Stephen Curry. The last game saw Andre Iguodala suffer and injury that could limit him or keep him out of this one. I think that is a very big loss for this team and could have an adverse effect on them tonight. It will definitely do a number on that defense. Enough to swing the series? Absolutely not, but enough to give the Portland fans something to cheer for tonight.
MLB Betting Tips:
Minnesota Twins at Los Angeles Angels: The Twins just came off a series where they scored forty runs in four games against the Mariners. They are the hottest offense in the game right now and face the Angels bullpen in this one. The Angels bullpen has been solid, but I am not quite sure they are ready for this offense right now. The Twins send Jake Odorizzi who has been solid for them with a 2.63 ERA.
Atlanta Braves at San Francisco Giants: The Braves offense has really been starting to heat up of late and they draw a nice match-up against Andrew Suarez today. This is Suarez’s first MLB start this year, but he’s posted a 6.33 ERA/4.88 FIP in Triple-A this year so I’m not expecting great things. What I really like here is the Braves pitcher Mike Soroka. This guy has been dominant this season with a 0.98 ERA on the year. The Giants offense is not all that impressive and can really struggle against great pitchers. Soroka is that thus far and the Braves should take this one.
