A 1-2 record last night.
I was just plain wrong about the Pelicans last night. New Orleans played without Anthony Davis and to back them in that situation was a big mistake. He is their team and that really shone through yesterday. When I wrote the tips, he wasn’t announced as out. That’s the penalty of trying to write these early sometimes. I’ll look to update in the future as the injury report and the schedule are two of the most important factors in betting the NBA.
The Lakers and Spurs game was close. We had the Lakers +1.5 and they were leading by six at the half. Sadly, the Spurs went +10 in the second half and the home cooking got them the win.
Milwaukee got another huge win at home and this team has been carrying us early. This team has been getting contributions from everyone early and along with the Raptors are the only two undefeated teams left.
A quick correction on yesterday’s record. I had marked the Raptors/Mavericks as a win on the over. When I posted it was 225.5 and they ended with 223 so that was actually a loss. This line was all over the place throughout the day so hopefully some of you got this one at 221.5-222.5 instead of the higher number. That was a loss for me though.
Just four games on the schedule today. Let’s take a look at what we have and make some winning tips.
Phoenix Suns vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:
The Thunder are 0-4, the last team in the West without a win, and tonight looks like the night they should get it. Phoenix’s defense has been ugly as expected and they look headed back to the lottery this year.
That said, OKC has been struggling on both ends of the floor early. They are currently dead last in Offensive Rating and their defense hasn’t been enough to carry them. The loss of Andre Roberson continues to plague the defense and Nerlens Noel has been a net negative thus far. I am just not a fan of the way this team looks right now. Russell Westbrook and Paul George are good and should carry them to the win tonight, but that’s just not something they can do every night.
Phoenix got a real talent in DeAndre Ayton and Devin Booker is one of the best young scorers in this league. I hate this team’s defense, but from what we’ve seen this season I don’t think they deserve to be this big of an underdog.

Washington Wizards vs. Los Angeles Clippers Betting Tips:
Another disappointing team early has been the Washington Wizards. They are just 1-4 to start the season. They have been without Dwight Howard and Markieff Morris is listed as questionable for this one. Their defense has not been good and they are on the fourth game of a West Coast road trip that sees games every other day.
One of the better early teams has been the Clippers. They’ve really defended well early and they are playing hard every night. I really like them in this match-up at home. Tobias Harris has been great and a healthy Danilo Gallinari has made all the difference for the offense. This is a fun team and I think they are in a lot better place right now than the Wizards.
