It was definitely a weird night in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New York Knicks in a game that LeBron James actually played. Not only did he play, but he put up his worst quarter of his entire career. He went 4-for-15 in the fourth quarter and was blocked by Mario Hezonja on a game-winning shot attempt. Not a good look for the King and this Lakers decision is not looking good right now. Crazily, the Knicks swept the Lakers this season and those make up two of their only 14 wins.
There was also a huge game between the Bucks and 76ers that saw the Sixers pull out the win. Joel Embiid had a huge 40 point, 15 rebound game with Jimmy Butler having 27. The Bucks got a career-best 52 points and 16 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it wasn’t enough. Eric Bledsoe had a real rough game with a -17 +/-.
There are roughly fourteen games left in the season for each team and a lot of the seeding is still yet to be decided. Just 3.5 games separate the third seed in the West from the eighth, with just 0.5 games separating the 6-7-8 seeds. The East has the 3-4-5 being separated by 2 games. This season is going to come down to the wire for a lot of these seeds.
Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Tips:
The Heat have looked good of late winning six of their past eight games. Of course, that’s easy to do when four of those wins come against Charlotte, Atlanta and, Cleveland. When they played Toronto and Milwaukee, it was pretty ugly. I think this one might be pretty ugly.
OKC is a great defensive team and while they’ll be without Russell Westbrook for this one, they have one of the most capable backup point guards in the league in Dennis Schroeder and they also have an MVP candidate by the name of Paul George who has really started to look good of late.
The Thunder have lost their last two and they need to win here to avoid a drop in the standings. They are a strong defensive team and I don’t see anyone on Miami that I believe can stop George. 30+ points and a dominating performance seems very likely here as does a Thunder win.

Denver Nuggets vs. Boston Celtics Betting Tips:
I believe in the Boston Celtics. They have won five of their past six games and that fits into the window of the “plane ride where everyone cleared the air, but nobody really knows anything about it” that this team went on. Kyrie Irving has been more engaged and the team has been winning. They are at home here where they have been 26-10 on the season. It’s also the last game before heading on the road and I expect them to savor this opportunity.
Denver is great. I won’t really say anything bad about them here because they are a good team. They are just on the road and they are a .500 road team on the year with a 6-9 record against the spread as a road underdog. I like this team, just not tonight.
