Welcome to the Sports Betting Tips for December 18th, 2014.
We cashed in big yesterday in the Capital One Cup, as we went with Liverpool over Bournemouth and they duly delivered. It was a dominant victory by Pool, and one that they really needed. Will be interesting to see if they can get back on track now.
The NBA was a bust as we went 0-2, but we still profited for the night thanks to our value bet on the Dallas Stars. We tipped them in regulation and they won 2-0. The odds for that one was a high 3.40 so that was a great price and made us a good bit of money.
Tonight we’ve got the NFL game the world has been waiting for: the Tennessee Titans vs the Jacksonville Jaguars. Are you freaking serious? This may be the first TNF game we skip all season. Just a brutal matchup. Will turn it on hoping for some good comedy.
Let’s get to the tips for today:
NHL Betting Tips:
First of all call us crazy but we’re going with the Edmonton Oilers tonight. Maybe we’ve been sipping on too much egg nog but hear us out. Sharks seem to become complacement against the weak teams. They have losses against the Oilers, Coyotes, Panthers and Buffalo this season – multiple losses in fact against the latter two. It’s insane.
We’re taking the Oilers tonight because at 3.20 odds why the hell not.
We’re also backing the Leafs. Usually a strong road team they’re matching that at home for the moment too and looking good. Hurricanes are in a bad spot right now and this is one of those games the Leafs should walk home. However the Leafs can be weird at times so we’ll play it safe and include the overtime and shootout in that bet.
We’re also taking the Penguins Money Line 3-Way. That means the Penguins need to win in regulation time. 1.80 odds for that, and we think they will do it but the Avs will battle and keep it tight which is why we don’t like the handicap.
Also coming off the games 2 days ago – Philly got destroyed by Tampa at home and are on a low, while the Panthers won that epic shootout and are on a high. We like the Panthers and are going to take them here at 2.20 odds.
Titans vs Jaguars Betting Tips:
Titans go into this one as 4 point underdogs. However they should be able to beat the Jguars here – or at least come close. We just don’t see this being a big game – we see it being a very tight game – probably a game under 40 points. The sportsbooks agree as they have the point spread at 38.5.
We’ll take the Titans +4 here and may god have mercy on our souls.
NBA Betting Tips:
4 games tonight. Knicks/Bulls line is off the board as we right this. We’re going with the Rockets -4.5. Pelicans are on a roll at the moment but this is a massive test for them and one we don’t think they will pass.
