Today is Saturday, January 17th 2015 and we’re going to be doing all football, all the time today. By football we do of course mean the non-American kind.
Let’s get to it:
EPL Betting Tips:
The Barclays Premier League has a good set of games this weekend. Man Utd visit QPR, while Liverpool visit Aston Villa. No early kickoff, but the late game is Newcastle vs Southampton.
Sunday sees Man City vs Arsenal in the big one, and Everton vs West Brom is Monday.
For today, here’s what we like:
Burnley to beat Crystal Palace. Burnley come into this one at a nice high price of 31/20 and that’s a great price. Around January is the time to assess, and we’re seeing a lot of fight from Burnley in the past month. They’ve drawn with Newcastle, Man City and Tottenham Hotspur as well as have beaten QPR. In the FA Cup they lost to Spurs, but they fought well there.
Palace also have looked good, and beat Spurs last week in the Premier League, but Burnley are at home and if they want to stay out of the relegation zone, this is the type of game they need to win. It’s not a sure thing – but the odds dictate we need to bet on them.
We also like Stoke to beat Leicester, and 2/1 is a good price with some value. Leicester have had a good month, but you have to remember their results are over Villa, Newcastle and Hull – all 3 of whom are poor. Stoke meanwhile, other than the Arsenal thumping drew with Man Utd, beat WBA and Everton – the latter away.

Finally for the EPL this weekend, take Man City to beat Arsenal. Arsenal are doing alright but City are coming off some struggles and this is a game that they will be motivated for. City seem to bring it that much more against the bigger teams, and with Chelsea still just a point away, this is a great time to do it. Chelsea have a tricky away tie at Swansea, so City could even go into this with the possibility of going top. And with Chelsea vs Man City coming up next on the fixture board they’ll want to go into it with the points as close as possible.
SPL Betting Tips:
We’re going to play a risky bet on Hamilton to beat Celtic. Celtic are coming off their break, and we think they’re going to be rusty. Throw in the 13/2 odds and it’s an easy bet to make. Hamilton are struggling a bit at the moment, but they’re still in 5th place and the teams are within touching difference. A win over Celtic would be absolutely huge – and you know teams are motivated to help Aberdeen out.
