A 1-1 record last night.
The weather was hell this weekend and given the chance to do it over I might’ve just stayed away from some of these games this weekend. Yesterday’s Brewers/Mets game being first on that list. I envisioned this one being 3-3 late to guarantee us the over, but I did not account for just how freakin’ cold it would be. It’s New York in April, but 42 degrees with winds blowing in 19 MPH is more than I bargained for. This one ended up 3-2 and the weather was the chief culprit.
We did grab the win in Boston as Chris Sale allowed one run in the first and then (along with the bullpen) not allow another run in the game. Dylan Bundy looked good as well, but an RBI triple by Andrew Benitendi and an RBI double by� Tzu-Wei Lin grabbed us the cover and the win.

My focus right now though is on today’s games. It was a disappointing weekend with all the even finishes, but with better weather and a fresh week of series, things are looking up. Let’s get into it.

Miami Marlins vs. New York Yankees Betting Tips:
Yankees at home. Lower tier lefty starter. Luis Severino on the mound. Easiest pick of the day.

Kansas City Royals vs. Toronto Blue Jays Betting Tips:
The stats are early, but the Jays have looked really good against lefties thus far. They draw a great match-up in this one as they face Eric Skoglund. The Mariners beat up on him big time last week and in eight career games he has a 9.53 ERA/5.79 FIP. He has to be better than that or he wouldn’t be in the major leagues, but I’ll believe it when I see it. He faces a tough Jays offense in the dome today and this one could get ugly for him.
The Jays will send Jaime Garcia and while he is solid, the long ball is often a problem for him. Since being traded to the AL last season, he had a 1.2 HR/9 rate in 2017 and he’s at 1.6 HR/9 through two games this year. The Royals don’t have a great offense, but Lucas Duda and Mike Moustakas have the split advantage and major power.
This one just feels like an over to me. The splits are in the hitters favor in this one and the pitchers leave a lot to be desired.

Texas Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Rays Betting Tips:
I am a big fan of Blake Snell this season and think he’s a major breakout candidate. He’s started three games thus far this season and outside of one bad one against the Yankees, he’s looked great. He has big strikeout numbers and gets a strong match-up in this one against the Rangers offense. They are only hitting .231 against lefties with just a .658 OPS on the season. Snell is a big time lefty and I think he’ll do well today.
The Rays haven’t been great against the Rays, but they get a lefty that is so hittable that it should render that irrelevant. Martin Perez has given up 11 runs in two starts this year with only three strikeouts. He is not a good starter and while he should have a better game than his last outing (8ER in 3IP), it won’t be enough to get the win here.
Tampa Bay is 3-12 on the season, but I am willing to lay the runs in this one. Snell is solid and Perez has been garbage.
