A 1-1 record last night.

The Rockies and Twins absolutely killed it on offense as they blew away the over 11 runs with a combined 17 runs. This one was never really in question and a great win for us.

I don’t know what the heck happened in the Rockies game. The last I looked it was 2-0 Padres in the top of the eighth. Final score? 7-0. That offense let us down again. I should’ve known that their struggles against righties would outrank the struggles of Brett Kennedy.

Prepare for a weird month with September as the teams who are out of it are going to call up a ton of guys you’ve never heard of and give them some run. While the contending teams that have things locked up will also use an extended roster. With the rosters expanding to 40-men I’m not quite sure how our stats will carry over. Will the bullpens be the same? Will the offenses get weaker for the weaker teams?

There has also been a few trades with the big one being Josh Donaldson heading to the Cleveland Indians. He’s been injured for much of the year, but if he can come back healthy this team just went up another level. Throw Donaldson at third, move MVP candidate Jose Ramirez to second and put Jason Kipnis in center? That’s a tough, tough lineup. It’ll be interesting to see how he is deployed and how the Indians look down the stretch. I have a feeling they are going to be scary.

I’m probably out for Sunday and possibly Monday as I’ll be celebrating Labor Day here in the states by going to ALL IN.

The system is pretty tight once again. If you can find a decent line on the Yankees -1.5, take it. Norris is a great match-up for them. That line isn’t up yet though so you won’t see it below. Just one tip today.

Minnesota Twins vs. Texas Rangers Betting Tips:

I have no idea why this line is so low as I think the Twins should be a pretty big favorite in this one. I know that this is a hitter’s park, we took advantage of it yesterday, but Jose Berrios is no slouch. He may be starting to tire a bit as he hasn’t went deep in his last few games, but I still believe in him and I like him in this match-up. He has a 3.74 ERA/3.85 FIP on the year.

He goes against Yovanni Gallardo who is one of my favorite pitchers to target in this league. No strikeouts, lots of walks and a 6.01 ERA/5.12 FIP. He is clearly on the downside of his career and he’s really just out there hoping everything turns out okay. In this park, I don’t think it will. The Twins offense exploded yesterday and I could see them doing that again today.

This could be another high scoring game, but I think that Berrios will protect early and give the Twins a scoring cushion. Grab this line early as I think it will climb throughout the day before game time.
