Grand Slam of Darts 2010 Day 1 Tips

The Grand Slam of Darts is here, people. Roll up to see some of the BDO’s finest take on the cream of the PDC. You want to see Ted Hankey get riled up by drunken louts? Watch the Grand Slam of Darts! You want to see Phil Taylor wearing glasses playing darts? Watch the Grand Slam of Darts! This is a fun week of darts on ITV4 and it’s a rarity in darts these days to see not only this format, but to see some of the faces.

I love the tournament and it’s still in its infancy and shows signs of only getting stronger. If only the BDO could have a World Champion that wasn’t a bit of a fool and would come and defend his code’s honour against Phil Taylor.

I won’t be supplying tips for group winners, as there is little value and the variation because of the short format makes it a hard one to call and since there is no value, there’s no point in speculation. However, we’ve got the first round of matches starting on ITV4 at 6pm and that means we’ve got tips.

World Grand Prix Day Seven – The Final – Tips

Well, we’re at the final and who would have thought Adrian “Jackpot” Lewis would have made it? He beat Phil Taylor in an epic encounter last night, taking it all the way down to the final leg of the match, recording his first win over the world number one on television. It now takes his lifetime wins of Phil Taylor to 3, but this is perhaps the most significant. In the other match, James Wade demolished Raymond van Barneveld in front of a very partisan crowd, but Wade managed to shrug it off, get down to business and make the final in this event, which he obviously loves.

So, the final of the World Grand Prix, the final chance for me to throw some tips your way until the Grand Slam of Darts on ITV4 in November. How time flies when you’re having fun, eh? Still, it’s been a great week, it built up to the big crescendo of Lewis beating Taylor and now all that’s left is for these two “warriors” to break out the tungsten and crown the 2010 World Grand Prix Champion. But spare a thought for the Phil Taylor backers, who have had their fingers burnt at 1/2! Well, maybe don’t spare a thought for them if you managed to pick out James Wade, or even better, Adrian Lewis, for the outright win.

PDC World Grand Prix Day Six Tips

Wow! What a night of darts. There was some walkovers, then perhaps one of the games of the year. Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor put in some performance, with Taylor’s bottle showing, with the crowd giving him some serious aggro. That being said, let’s not forget Adrian Lewis and Wayne Jones put on a great show, even if it didn’t go our way. We were a bit unlucky with Lewis pulling out some fantastic darts to beat Jones, who was superb in defeat. The scoreline really didn’t go Jones justice.

Still, we’re into the semi-finals now, with the three top players in the world there, along with the man touted to be the next Phil Taylor – Adrian Lewis. If you could have picked a semi-final line-up, you wouldn’t have gone far wrong with these four.

PDC World Grand Prix Day Five Tips

A bit of a heartbreaking night for us. The Wes Newton Vs Barrie Bates match was a particular source of trauma. Still, a fair night and a decent tournament for us so far. Some great matches so far, filled with drama.

Tonight, perhaps the highlight of the week for us, with Phil Taylor facing the man many people thought would end up being his main challenger for PDC titles, Gary Anderson. The other three matches also have the potential to be special, with Adrian Lewis facing the bang in-form Wayne Jones, Raymond van Barneveld taking on Barrie Bates and the conqueror of Simon Whitlock, Andy Hamilton, facing James “The Machine” Wade.

PDC World Grand Prix Day Three Tips

Well, I’m sad to say Co Stompe is out. The Matchstick couldn’t do the business when it came down to it and it’s a sad day at Darts Betting Tips! Still, onwards and upwards as we head into Day 3 of the World Grand Prix in Dublin.

I don’t think last night’s action was exactly the greatest night of darts, but hey, there was drama, there was darts and most importantly there was darts betting. Tonight’s action is the best of five sets, so we’re going to get more bang for our buck and we do have Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor both in action, so we will see some great darts being thrown.
